People should read Yaschka Mounks twitter thread from earlier today depicting the chaos that’s occurred in Italian hospitals.

One thing that's concerning to me is that the turnaround time for testing in Wisconsin is still several days because they're being sent to the state lab. Hospitals are going to need to be able to test on site, where the turnaround time would be significantly shorter.

And don't come down with appendicitis either or you'll be going to the local vet.

With a B.....

That will be funny if they have to fork out of their personal money LOL
Which they might have to. I don't know what is the legal entity of the NBA and the teams individually, but if that legal entity can't pay its contracts with the players because it's missing TV money, then it goes bust, and if it goes bust the owners lose their investment that they paid crazy money for.

This is concerning in most places. I point out not to downplay your concern for Wisconsin, but rather to shine a light on the state of where this is in the US. Which is not good.

Obviously not as important as the situation itself, but there’s a scenario now where Giannis has played his last game as a Buck. Season gets cancelled, Giannis doesn’t sign the extension and is traded before next season. Not likely, but theoretically possible.

I will admit I thought this might be overblown until Italy. This is not SARS or MERS. This virus is a bad mother ****.

No real reason not to get out in front of it if possible.

This very thing happened at a hospital/nursing home in New Orleans during Katrina. Excellent read. “Five Days at Memorial”

That book was terrifying and so disheartening.

We are nowhere near that point. If a city or region gets to the point where they even think this might be a possibility, I'm sure the feds will look at options like sending FEMA or Army Medical Corps doctors to that location.

FEMA and the Army Medical Corp has never had to staff this entire country at the same time.

I'm not panicking about it, truly, but it really isn't that simple.

It's not corona virus that will kill more people. It's no hospital beds, no medical staffs due to quarantine.

A Harvard expert epidemiologist predicted 40-70% of the world would contract it. The World Health Organization just declared it a global pandemic. How do you send docs everywhere? Especially when they are also very human. I thought I was being conservative with the 20% quote.

I'm not saying will happen. I'm saying there is a non-zero chance that it will. Probably a substantial non-zero chance. If so, it'll be really bad.

I'm honestly glad this happened from the Bucks standpoint. Giannis can get fully healthy and Bled can practice his way out of the slump he's in.
