Having some beef at center is definitely necessary. Let's not revisit the days when Tyler **** Zeller was the savior because Thon kept getting thrown around like a ragdoll. Let's not pretend Portis is an inside presence either.

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions
I don't think we have the pieces to make a play for Lonzo. Bagley to me is a negative contract and I want nothing to do with him. JJ would have to include Brook to match which means we need a cheap startling level center back in a deal. I don't see that being the case.
As far as ideas go the Knicks were interested in DJA before the season and are looking for a vet PG and have cap space. Sending him there makes some sense. Don't think we can get Burks back as they're looking to win but maybe Ntilikina in a 3 way trade or cap space.

Team still feels like it really needs a lead-guard capable of quarterbacking the offense in the worst way (it's why some of us wanted Paul over Jrue), but Lonzo's "improved" 3PT shooting last season is already looking like it was a fluke. Just don't know how you play a guy so offensively limited next to Giannis. The fact that he's a downright atrocious FT shooter might be the more concerning part fit-wise.

I get what you're saying, I just don't think the Bucks offense will change to make it work with Giannis being a primary facilitator. I'd like to see Jrue with the ball in his hands more. I think the best fit is a combo guard with Giannis. We've already seen DJA's limitations off the ball. Jrue is as great fit IMO. Lonzo's strength is his passing, but he'd need to have the ball a lot to be worth it. He's really flawed, and needs to develop before taking on a major role on a contender. 10 years ago, the Bucks were the perfect team (IE - terrible) to give Lonzo an opportunity to develop.

Some intriguing possibilities here. On the surface it would seem odd to trade away a proven vet when you're a contender, but I don't think DJA is a fit. His pacing and ball-dominance aren't quite right for the Bucks. DJA + a second-rounder for Quickley would be pretty sweet IMO. Would that come with a trade exception for the difference in salary as well? If so, that's gonna be my new pet trade, and I think NYK and Thibs are actually impatient enough to do it, whereas normally I would dismiss it as being unrealistic.
Alternatively, getting an expiring contract like Frank or DSJ + a couple seconds, or just getting a TPE and a late second, might be worth considering because it would free up space under the hard cap for more than one buyout candidate.

In a vacuum if we're shopping DJA I doubt he returns positive value (which would be TPE + a late second). That's why I think both Frank and DSJ could be targets as their value seems a bit volatile (I have them both negative but a third team may think they can get something out of them).
Frank and DSJ both are in the last year of their rookie deals and make 6m each. Getting either back for DJA barely opens up a buyout spot. It's also not really taking a chance on high upside prospects because right now I don't see how you wouldn't decline their hefty QO at the end of the year but the correcting of a mistake. I guess IF Frank plays up to his potential and can stay healthy he kind of fits a lot better than DJA, but more likely than not either is a downgrade.
As far as other targets from the Knicks Quickley had some high scoring games and being a recent draft pick I would assume the Knicks value him much more than that. Austin Rivers on his current contract is someone I like but again he had some big games for the Knicks and is on a team friendly deal. And the Knicks have been kind of stingy taking back contracts without assets going their way.
We'll see what's out there but best realistic trade I think could be out there is a 3-way where DJA goes to New York, Frank or DSJ to a rebuilding team and we get an even smaller salary slot back.

Look, I have no idea what's gonna make Washington finally pull the trigger on a Beal trade, but it sure looks to be reaching a breaking point, and this is pretty much exactly why so many people said you shouldn't give up the Godfather offer for Jrue Holiday.

Yup, this pure scorer type is what they need in the half court offense. Granted, you also have to let him do it and not stand in the corner while Giannis handles the ball, but that's a different problem. Who knows though, I'm sure everyone including MKE called WAS in the offseason and they wouldn't do it.

I'd love JJ as an upgrade over Forbes if Bud is going to keep using Forbes the way he has. There's very few guys who have ever been better than Redick when it comes to using screens.
That said, the contract is tough to fit in.

If New Orleans can't find a trade partner does JJ get bought out? If so, I would have to believe he would strongly consider signing with Milwaukee, he seems to really think highly of Jrue and may want to play out the year with him.
Dealing with people who exhibit the "smartest person in the room" syndrome can be a challenge. One approach is to listen their opinion while also encouraging open-mindedness. It's important to create an environment where all voices are valued.

Bucks were in a tough spot with the Giannis situation, don't know that I can fault them for not waiting around hoping Beal would be ready to force his way out of Washington. Wizards made it pretty clear they weren't dealing him in the offseason by all reports.

I feel like they'd certainly be able to find a trade partner for him, but I guess it's possible.
Agree, though, that he would consider playing with Jrue again. He has spoken very highly of playing with Jrue.

Lost any hope in Lonzo after I saw that. The idea that a high profile professional athlete would publish that blows my mind.

I know it's early, but Toppin's a bust, yeah? Who in their right mind would even take him over Tillman at this point?

Ship Jrue + whatever for Beal ...
I am not even sure if Wizards would accept, cause Jrue probably is not resigning there.
So I guess even if we are interested we need a 3rd team desperate to give alot for Jrue. Maybe the Warriors or something.
I like Jrue but I believe Bud doesn't know how to use him properly so as the time flies the similarities with Bledsoe's productivity will occur.

This is crazy. Even if it was just a picture of the bar I would be laughing.

Yea you'd think there is a contending team with an expiring contract of a blah player (maybe an Olynik type guy, but MIA has Herro/Robinson already) that lines up or one with just this year and next (as opposed to Brook's 2 years). Don't want to dig too deep but something has to be out there. I suppose they could be willing to take on a depth player back who has years left (like Brook) since they'll have Adams 30 mil coming off this offseason too.

If we were to put Donte on the market I could see us getting a great return.
However he's playing so well that I doubt there's a deal that's worth it.
Great fit + rookie contract too.
Just putting it out there that if Horst really wanted to be aggressive we do have a serious piece that we know was on the table as recently as this offseason.

I would be curious to see what something like Donte + Brook + DJW would fetch.

Not originally my suggestion but I agree with whomever said Larry Nance would be a good target.
