During his post-game interviews he's said he has to adjust to having the wide-open looks as his shot feels like it's taking a bit longer than usual, not having a defender in his face. I have faith he'll figure it out before December.

First-World problem of playing with a Top 25 player of all-time... "Woe is me of being too wide-open".

But I've actually thought about this over the last couple years. Maybe it is my bias of wanting Giannis to get credit for useless stats. but it seems like we have a disproportionate amount of missed wiiiiiiide-open 3s.
It's been painful, but I have no idea how the Bucks actually compare to other teams. I just go with the Basketball Gods know how unfair the Bucks would be if they hit those shots, so they level the playing field a bit.

So far this year according to tracking data, we're taking the 4th most wide open 3s/game and making the 4th lowest % of them.

Still not 100% over losing PJ Tucker. It feels like we lost something that was important in us winning the championship even if the statistics don't bear it out. I can't decide if i'm being irrational about this.

Thad Young would be a nice little replacement. Maybe Pop can do his old friend Bud a favor on this one.

Definitely lost something. I'm watching the playoff again and he brings that, "we dogs! " mentality and it shows. Every possession he's fighting like a mad dog. And it rubbed off on the team.

I'm not sure how they will replace that. Maybe owning a ring gives you that edge? IDK. They have 5 months to figure it out or bring in someone to give thst extra.

Yea I get that mindset. But it's October, is that really there for anyone right now? I mean PJ basically sat out last year before the end of the season. That wasn't too 'doggy/competitive' to me. If anything the last few years have shown is regular season is just a formality. I'm sure after everything they went through last playoffs it's not exactly easy to get up for an Oct game vs the Wolves.

Key to this tea is Giannis has always had that mentality himself and he's the best player so it will trickle down. I'd try not to put too much into the psychological aspects of no PJ but more look at how you're missing the skill of a thick tough on man defender for certain situations. Will someone step up like they hoped Semi. Can Allen/DDV do it enough, etc.

They're missing 3-4 rotation players right now, lets not overreact. It's 6 months until it matters.

This team has been looking soft but idk if it’s more about missing PJ or just because Brook is missing. The bucks are in the bottom third of rebounding and I’m sure rim protection has taken a dive.

Something tells me the key injuries are the actual issue rather than missing PJ.

I've been thinking about this more lately. Tucker's presence has definitely been missed this season. On top of that we brought back George Hill, who has given me bad vibes since the bubble. We're definitely missing a bit of an edge.

Luckily it's still October

Don't think it's George Hill's bad vibes. It is the play that's the problem. We badly need a good PG with Jrue out. The 2021-22 Hill is a much different player than the 2018-2019 Hill we had.

We're shooting the 3 terribly and getting beat up on the defensive glass because we're missing a mediocre 3 point shooter and poor defensive rebounder?

Nah, the rebounding issue is because Brook and Bobby were out at the same time.

The 3 point shooting is just a small sample thing that will even out.

The team is generating great shots, something that didn't happen when PJ was on the floor.

The Bucks have been really good with Hill on the floor. Problem is, Justin Robinson is averaging over 14 minutes a game, with a 1.8 PER and 35TS%. That's beyond brutal.

We've definitely missed PJ to start the year, but I feel like we've missed Brook, Jrue, Donte and Bobby more.

You overanalyzed everything I said lol. I said we're missing a bit of an edge. How did you get the rest from that? I just liked the mentality he brought and the Hill comment was about the mentality I don't think he brings. Nothing more, nothing less.

PJ Tucker accomplished far less than many of you think, apparently.

I like George Hill and think we’ll end up feeling good about the signing.

And Hill makes about 1/2 of what PJ got from the Heat, which saves ownership that much more in luxury payments.

However, if Hill turns out to be mostly cooked, fans could end up questioning the decision to make Tucker the cap casualty. Positional needs be damned.

(Also obligatory reference to how keeping PJ didn't need to be mutually exclusive with signing Hill).

We're starting Hill when his actual role on the team is spot minutes. When we can get to the point where he's there for 0-12 minutes a game when we want to run three guards then we're fine.

Holiday 40/ Donte 8
Allen 28/ Donte 20
Mids/Nwora/Pat
Giannis/Pat/Bobby/Nwora
Brook/Giannis/Bobby

Don’t think we’re missing Tucker, we’re just down 3 starters and a 6th man. If/when we get our real top 9 healthy I don’t think the Tucker loss matters even remotely.

Injuries happen, even / especially late in the season during the grind of the playoffs.

If we had Tucker we wouldn’t be remotely as reliant on the fringe NBA players and prospects we’ve been trotting out there.

Of course this is a perfect part of the season to be developing young guys and seeing what we have with new signings!

However PJ’s defensive versatility definitely was a major luxury last season when Donte went out, and if any much less all of Holiday / Lopez / Portis are to miss time in the playoffs, we very well might seriously miss Tucker if other guys don’t step up to fill the gap.

Hill has actually been pretty good imo, he nots a starter level player off the bench like he was before we traded him but he’s been solid. Once Jrue is healthy he will be back in his role he was signed for.

All this missing Tucker talk is goofy. So is the Hill angst.

We're 3-2 missing 3 starters and our key reserve is just back.

Giannis/Middleton/Lopez/Jrue/Allen/Portis/Pat are a fantastic 7. Add DDV (hopefully). Hill as a 9th guy (not starter as he is now). Anything you get from Semi and Hood is gravy. We're better than last season.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.
