I’ve actually been really encouraged by AJJ’s play, both in his aggressiveness and ability to get to his spot. He is definitely rushing and his light build is impacting his ability to finish. But it seems like he has an alpha mentality and the speed will play in this league.

Whether he can positively contribute this year is anyone’s guess. But I think he will be a player.

Yep. Still rams into dudes right in the chest with that scrawny body. Kid is a crazy good prospect.

AJJ needs to get a tiny bit stronger so he can muscle some of these shots at the rim. Other than that I think it's just repetition.

AJ-J looks like a 19 year old in the best projectionable way, his instincts as a lead guard are good just needs his body to mature and to work on his shot. It's impressive seeing a 170lb soaking wet kid go up strong trying to finish, Jennings had a 40 inch vert but couldn't finish in game ever. Get him some run on the Herd when the opportunity is there but I want him on the main roster around our stars as much as possible, I think he can already contribute as a change of pace guy off the bench.

I've learned to pump the brakes on these guys but the fact that he's only 19 and is at least showing something is encouraging. It will be all about if he can improve his shot and scoring efficiency but the tools are there.

AJ just needs reps and needs to add like 15-20 (good) lbs. Get him in the weight room with Giannis and let him play either 10-15 min a night in competent lineups with the main squad, or big minutes with the Herd. It’s always been about years 2, 3, and beyond with him, rookie year is just to see if there’s anything there and there certainly appears to be imo.

The kid can get anywhere he wants to on court with his speed/handles, still aggressively attacks/tries to finish despite his lack of strength at the moment, has better playmaking chops than I expected, and generally plays hard/has a confidence about him. Just not fully formed as a player yet but that’s to be expected at 19.

His shooting was his biggest weakness coming into the draft. Odds are that will be his weakness has he gets older.

His age gives him a much better chance than if he was 22 or 23 coming with that weakness. We'll see what happens. He doesn't have to be an amazing shooter to be a useful player but also can't be outright terrible.

I hope AJ can break this streak.

AJJ seemed to be shooting his layups to soon - before he was in the right position to use the backboard. When the game slows down for him, he might be more comfortable not rushing the shot. Either that or he builds some strength and learns to absorb contact on his way to the basket. Or, shudder, he joins your list of Bucks non-finishers.

Drew, Jrue, Have it all, and Werewolf some decent layup ball skills
C'maaan, Werewolf? Who is that?

I seem to remember some Werewolf reference to Mo Williams almost 20 years ago. That might have been on the jsonline.com Bucks forum.

Still one of the best comebacks/shots in Bucks history.

If Dame is still doing the play the entire first quarter thing- it would be pretty fun to let AJ start the second quarter and fly around the court for 5 minutes. I'd be all for giving him 5-10 minutes of non closing lineup (obviously) minutes a night from day one. His quickness stands out it would be fun to have that gear to go to in spurts.

1st let's send him to the G League and see if he can occasionally hit a shot before we waste regular season minutes on him.

Nice one, Larry Drew.

Doc already has him at the front of the young guy queue so he's 10th at worst in the rotation right now if everyone suits up.

Don't think there is such a thing as wasting regular season minutes for a team that's going to be coasting for most of the regular season
