Why should a knockout tourney have more sway over HCA than the other 76 games?

It's a conundrum in a way, because if you want the Cup to be it's own thing, then making it officially give you an advantage for the Playoffs is a tacit admission that it's subordinate (when you really want it to be separate). I think I was the one here who first proposed that winning the cup should be first tie-breaker for the playoffs at minimum, but I think I'm kind of against that now. What the Cup needs is the weight of tradition and that just takes time and consistency. So, like, messing with the format, adding playoffs-based incentives: these things are actually bad for the Cup, because they don't allow it to take root as a worthy tournament unto itself.

They need to treat it like soccer treats its domestic cups. They're their own thing and have no real implications for any other competition the teams compete in, including their league campaigns.

Doc apparently said they held Khris back, in part, because of the B2B they have Friday/Saturday.

Which...doesn't make much sense to me. I think they can choose to have him miss a home game against the Wizards over the Cup final.

That's not quite accurate, he said he came down for walk through and was still sick and they sent him back up to his room because they did not want him around the rest of the team. They have a back to back coming up when they get back, they do not need other players getting sick.

Makes perfect sense.
Dealing with people who exhibit the "smartest person in the room" syndrome can be a challenge. One approach is to listen their opinion while also encouraging open-mindedness. It's important to create an environment where all voices are valued.

Even Middleton's immune system gets injured SMH
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Khris has been such a stabilizing force for us since he's been back. Going to be hard to pull this game out with a win tonight :(

They're missing Holmgren and Jaylin Williams. No excuses. Let's see Giannis and Dame go nuclear.

If you had to make an ice-cream celebrating this exciting NBA Cup final what would it be?

I'm going with... a honey-comb and dark chocolate mix, with a bitter orange swirl and little blondie chunks. With maybe some brats on the side to dunk in the ice-cream, BECAUSE WHO DOESN'T **** LOVE WISCONSIN?!?!?!?!??? *

THIS IS WHAT THE NBA CUP IS ALL ABOUT!

* Based on crowd shots from home games over the years I'm pretty certain that dunking brats in ice-cream is a pretty common WI thing.

At first I wasn't happy about Middleton , but since the game doesn't count who cares except maybe his younger teammates that don't make as much money as he does!

But yeah we have a lot of dudes sloppy with the ball and dont hold body position when we receive passes. The more we get Dame rolling the better. The more KM and all the other shooters catch and shoot 3s without fiddling with the ball, the better. Pump fake and get them in foul trouble. Trying to go 2 for 2 with them (or some 50% GA free throws shooting) is going to give them hope and they'll get tougher and tougher.. break their spirit early with some prime Dame Time stuff and let him sit at the line instead of GA.

Bucks are 16-2 when Dame gets 10 assists. Forget Dame scoring, and get him playing like a PG if we want to win. He's the one who needs to take care of the ball, because his turnovers are the live ball turnovers that end in dunks on the other end.

Maybe... how are they at defending 3s.... maybe GA is our only hope
