Can Kuzma be re-routed? This can’t be the only move. Horst is an absolute bozo if he thinks this was the way to make the roster better.
RIP Kobe Forever. GOAT 8-24. Long Live Giannis

Re: Middleton/Johnson to Wash for Kuzma/Baldwin
Let's provide some balance here:
- The deal cannot be fully judged until we see what else they may do w/ getting under the second apron
- The team knows more than we do about its own players (Khris's health / ability to play 2 months of postseason basketball, AJ Johnson's development, etc)
- We did get younger. **If** Kuzma ends up being a useful player, this team's contending window (albeit maybe fringe) may have extended for another year or two. 34yo midds was not going to be a part of a contending team (33yo midds off double ankle surgery might not have either). If that comes to fruition, another year or two of having Giannis + an outside chance at a title is worth it
- Despite what the general sentiment of this board may suggest, you don't just get good assets for bad assets. You invest in depressed assets, w/ a hope/belief that you bought low. Kuzma checks that box.

Khris' medicals must have also been a mess.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Maybe Kuzma replaces Bobby, then Bobby+whatever replaces Khris?

I feel like this was 100% financially motivated and they know we're not a contender. I'm sad, mainly because I hate Kuzma as a player.

Yes. Buckle up.
I'm not defending this trade, nor do I look forward to watching that goof Kuzma chuck and whiff. But I have to think there are more moves coming, that push Kuz down the pecking order and salvage the season. Because doing nothing is better than a Kris for Kuz swap. I have to think Horst made this to get under the apron, with a sensible Brook and/or Bobby trade to come.

Agreed, but what's a "soft swap"?
I was about to type "it probably doesn't matter because it's Washington", but I can't really say that with any confidence.

I wonder where that came from. Not a fan of GM Giannis.

Re: Middleton/Johnson to Wash for Kuzma/Baldwin
I'll tune in for the playoffs (if we make it), but won't watch another second of regular season ball until Horst is gone. He's been the worst gm of any contender for a long time now. Just a total incompetent moron.

He is the one player I wish was healthy all year but I do not complain about it. You can't control that so why cry?

Chickens came home to roost now, there is no getting this team out of the tailspin Horst put us in
We'd be fools to think we're not dangerously close to this reality

The wizards will have the opportunity to swap firsts for the worst of the por/mil 1st in 2028.

It's hilarious that people are mad about Johnson. He's a total project. Scored 2 points in his last G League game. He won't be useful untill his rookie contract is over. Then someone is going to grossly overpay him because of his age.
The rest of the deal is awful though

That's literally our only hope currently.

He's from UWM. Couldn't get our Marquette guy home so he's the next best thing.

NBA pick trading is such a mess, lol.
