Why couldn't we just make Jeff Schwartz the gm?

Hey, where's everyone watching the draft this year? Is there a party somewhere? I can either sit my dumbass at home all night or piss and moan about every little thing in public somewhere.

FWIW, I like the Schwartz/Excel prospects this year. So that wouldn't really bothered me if they went in that direction, on a micro-level. Of course on a macro-one it spells trouble.

IIRC, the Schwartz/Excel clients are Leaf, Derrick White, and Giles. I can see the merits in each of those guys. Leaf is a mid ceiling/high floor type. Giles is a boom/bust. White is a sleeper who could wind up being a factor on offense with his shooting/wiggle + size and defense with size + instincts. He didn't get recruited out of college, then had a big growth spurt, and was pretty darn impactful his only year in major d1.

I'm not positive but I think there may be a couple 2nd round type guys being represented by Excel as well. It would be included in the running list of Bucks workouts I posted before.

@IAmDPick Belgium 6-11 center Ismael Bako is gaining steam ahead of the NBA draft. He auditioned for Bucks and Nuggets - Thunder and Nets are next.

I know thats a joke but the suns did this a while back with lon babby. It was a horrible decision and how they ended up trading for turkoglu and giving a bunch of cash to childress and warrick. That offseason set franchise back 5 years.

Was watching a little bit of the combine and it was right around the time they were kind of spot lighting Giles. They showed him sprinting and jumping and he seemed perfectly fine tbh. He didn't have the look of someone favoring an injury concern at all which is obviously a good sign. I've been thinking this entire time it's best to steer clear of drafting him; 1. Because of his injury concerns and 2. There's no way he helps this team next year... but having said that, if he does stay healthy he could be a special talent and that's the type of gamble I can definitely get down with drafting someone at 17.

I personally still won't rank him high enough to be in my group of bpa's at 17 but I'm warming up to the idea he'll be a fine pick at the end of the day.

Jabari looked fine this season as well. For what its worth i wouldn't be that opposed to Giles and would get around it if we picked him but right now I'm just not sure i want another guy where i have to worry every game could be his last. I just got over that with Jabari before he went down again, he just looked so good..

The media show the Sixers have put on around Fultz today is something else. The trade has to be like 99.9999999% done or this might be one of the biggest embarrassments ever.

Ike is the best Biyombo tho. And that's a player archetype we could really use especially if Henson and/or Moose are gone.

This type of player has a Tristan Thompson kind of ceiling in the modern NBA, and I think we can do better as far as ceilings go.

He doesn't have a Tristan Thompson ceiling. He is a pretty high ceiling player. He has explosive athleticism, strength, length, and ball-handling skill. He also displays decent foundation for a jumper which Thompson never developed.

Adebayo is 1 and a half inches taller, same advantage on the wingspan, -0.5" on the standing reach, +3" on both standing and max verts, a sculpted 243 instead of soft 227. In college he shot 17% better from the line.

Don't know how this screams Tristan Thompson best case to you.

He has all-star potential. The question about him, unlike TT, is if he'll make the most of his potential. Don't know if he has a good head on his shoulders.

because he doesn't have TT's tenacity, and I know this because pretty much nobody has, TT is an overachiever who does better than most Cs who has are an inch taller than him. So it kinda balances out in my mind.

Anyway I'm not saying BAM will not be a useful player, just saying this particular draft has lots of unusually good pieces mid-first round and we can do better. For an org that is bad at pretty much everything we are unexectadly good at drafting and I'd like to see us take a few more chances with our picks.

The more I watch and read about Josh Hart, the more I warm up to the idea of him at 17. He just seems like an excellent fit in the backcourt next to Brogdon. If you can put 2 defensive minded guards with solid 3 point shots on the floor along with Middleton and Thon, I think that sounds like a perfect formula for Giannis to dominate.

Have the Bucks taken any guards or wings out to dinner?

The only dinners I'm aware of are Allen and Bam. I would take Bam out of the those two.

My excitement for the draft has dwindled some with this whole GM **** show, and knowing LED and Kidd are the real GMs. And especially knowing Kidd will be here until HE decides he wants to go.

Well at least this pick may give us a little more insight into who runs the show here.

I still hold that this is a deep draft and their are several nice picks we could get at #17. The whole GM fiasco is much more disturbing.

I would be sooo excited if we drafted BAM. :D I don't really get the Tristian Thompson comparisons though. Anyways, I think we can have the best front court in the NBA with him Maker, and Giannis in a couple of years, and the pot sweetens even more if Jabari comes back even semi healthy. I think his floor maybe TT but his ceiling would be approaching Dwight Howard but a better free throw shooter. I have flip flopped on Mitchell again and do not want.
