He's not a negative on the defensive end when he's on the court (0.8 points per 100 better). Think we need to stop overrating how "good" Zaza was as defender. The only thing that Zaza has/had on Gortat is the relatively overrated skill of high post passing from the center position. Gortat even at 33-34 is a much better finisher/athlete, and can pop that mid-range jumper (43.5% from 10-16 ft). Dude can absolutely level guys as a screen-setter. We need a big bruiser/intimidator like him on the roster.
I don’t think Henson/Gortat is much better than Henson/Monroe and what are we giving up to get Gortat?
We aren't giving up anything. Thon/Teletovic is nothing.

I think Teletovic and Thon was the proposal that guy loved.

Telli's value right now is tied to if he is forced to retire due to medical reasons and he comes off the books. That is only useful for the Bucks.

Wiz fan here. I think Gortat for Snell would make sense as each side gets something. Bucks get the better contract and player(Slightly), Wiz get the more valuable position and cut salary each of the next two years to make getting under lux tax easier.
Bledsoe, Gortat, Middleton, and Telly all expire in 2019

Eww, no way am I giving up Snell for Gortat. My idea was Henson straight up for him. Wizards are over the luxury tax and this shaves off 2-3 mil in salary annually over those remaining years.

Re: Bucks Trade Ideas Thread 2018
I think Gortat would be a better fit for the Bucks vs Monroe if only since he is a better shooter.
Either way badly need someone who can rebound and set strong picks.
Gortat is not ideal but his contract also ends before we have to extend Bledsoe / Middleton / Brogdon as opposed to Henson or Snell who go longer.
If we can get a better upgrade for similar assets of course that would be worth pursuing.

Re: Bucks Trade Ideas Thread 2018
Two things I am doing right now;
1. I am seeing what is out there for Middleton and if the return is right, I am moving him because I don't know that he is here on his next contract and I doubt he is worth his next contract
2. Ship Vaughn out, let him free and sign Plumlee or some other big that can take those Thon minutes until Thon, I don't know, reboots or something.

Totally possible this is as high as Middleton's value is ever going to get and that now is the time to trade him before he gets a huge contract.
A big question I have is whether Middleton can effectively move back to SG with Jabari at the 3. Otherwise if we are committing to Jabari we will need one of them to come off the bench -- or commit to Giannis at the 5.

If we are targeting Zeller this seems worth tracking.
Other thoughts RE Charlotte and the trade market.
Also I don't see Matthews as a fit for us but thought I'd flag another player who might be available.

So who is going to be the Wiz starting Center?

Latest on the Cavs front.
http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/2018/01/cavaliers_kings_far_apart_on_p.html
The Cavaliers and Kings are further apart on a trade for George Hill than it first appeared, sources told cleveland.com, with significant hurdles toward a potential deal remaining.
One source told cleveland.com that the two sides were speaking "conceptually" about Hill and were never close; another said the Cavs sought to change the parameters of a potential trade.
Conceptually, at least, the Cavs would get Hill from the Kings and send Channing Frye and Iman Shumpert to Sacramento. Derrick Rose could also have been involved and perhaps a future second-round draft pick
Cleveland's deep thinkers believe that Hill will nonetheless help as a guard who can play either spot, score, and defend. The Cavs aren't getting any defense from Isaiah Thomas (118.7 defensive rating in eight games) and not much at all from J.R. Smith (112.6 defensive rating, 7.4 points per game on offense).
Also, a league source told cleveland.com that Hill may still be dealing with a sore toe that nagged him last season and forced him out of three playoff games when he was with Utah against Golden State in May.

That wasn't your objection.

Would absolutely do Snell for Gortat. We have Sterling Brown ready to slide into the minimized role Snell is about to have once Jabari returns.

What about some kind of reboot trade between CHA, CLE and MKE
CHA: Middleton, TT, Love, Calderon
CLE: Kemba, MKG, Howard, Delly
MKE: Zeller, Monk, IT
Charlotte gets a star and Middleton would fit nice along side Batum and Love.
Cleveland gets Kemba and some defense they are looking for.
Milwaukee gets a useful center, young SG prospect and IT can be a second unit scorer.
PG: Bledsoe, IT, Terry
SG: Brogdon, Monk, Vaughn
SF: Snell, Brown, (Parker)
PF: Giannis, Mirza, Wilson
C: Zeller, Henson, Thon

Balances the roster and reduces our salary liabilities. Unless there's a strong market for Snell and you can get something even better, you do this trade.

Get Horst on the line. Just need to clear one of Telly, Delly, or Henson for some breathing room but not counting on it.
