Specifically because it's Windhorst, and Giannis and Dame are the only two players on our team whose names he knows.

fansinceforever wrote:Yeah, maybe but this is entirely dependent on you getting those "2 defenders" that you mentioned. I'm of the opinion that we either strike out or create new problems by moving the only two centers on the roster for the defenders.

I would bet Middleton + gets you closer to 2-3 guys that can defend and give you something else more than moving Bobby and/or Brook will. The Bucks can be a top 10 offense with Giannis/Dame as it's focal points on offense.

How much is a GP2, for example, really going to cost? Don't know if it's even 1 of the bigs. If healthy, he'd fill one of the holes. We don't need more than strong d & the occasional 3 from our sg given our big 3 strength, if it's kept in-tact.

As far as big replacements, it is a strong draft. That's going to cover you for your backup. As for the other, maybe we could keep Brook if he's not needed to acquire the 2. Or look at FA, if we shed enough salary in trades to go that route. I don't think that much is required from our C either, given the load from the other guys.

I think Orlando is the team to watch in any 3 team (I think any deal involving Khris will involve 3 teams) Khris deal. They need shooting and a vet to help them along. They’ve been linked to Klay quite a bit, but I don’t see that happening. Monk is off the table now. Khris could be a big target and they will have the cap to absorb his deal. Hammond is still PBO down there as well.

The bigger issue is what player the Bucks would be looking to add. Orlando has some picks they could toss to another team.

Very interesting that Windhorst didn’t mention him though.

But what constitutes not strong to someone like Doc who has an affinity old vets. Maybe he wouldn't trade him for role players like fansinceforever wants, but a big name like George, even if we'd have to package Midds w/ other assets, might be viewed highly.

A trade for Paul George would absolutely be a “very strong return”. He’s one of the best players in the NBA. That’s completely different than the types of trades most people around here have been proposing with Middleton.

Yeah, I only half sarcastically threw out a Brook + Midds for PG13 trade a couple months ago. That's at least something that would, on paper, increase our championship odds assuming you could fill out the rest of the roster with 3-4 playoff rotation pieces. But again, we can 't aggregate salaries right now, so there really isn't a realistic target out there making equal or less than Middleton that helps us more than Middleton does.

Interesting that only Dame and Giannis were named untouchable. As it should be.

Windy likely got word of a blockbuster deal construct from some other team that involved Middleton (and probably more). Whether that actually turns into something is always a long shot. But this is how Windy works. He won’t name specifics otherwise he loses his sources. He just drops a hint of a change.

Out of all the names out there, Wendall Carter still remains the most intriguing one. Love the way he's turned into a crafty defender that won't get played off the court and feels like it would be a seamless fit next to Giannis.

Middleton isn't going anywhere. Doc loves him. I didn't get the impression Doc was that into Brook.

You're proving my point that it doesn't allay my fear that Doc would compel Horst to do something akin to what George Karl did which derailed the franchise for years, because it was a very short-term solution to a non-problem.

Brook is being shopped. Stewart is being shopped.

3 teamer where a team wants the best player, and gets lopez.

Give all those assets to Detroit.

Send Stewart and Grimes to the bucks.

I don’t think Beef Stew is valuable at all on his current contract.

I'm not really a fan of Carter, but if he were essentially the salary part of the deal where we get someone I think is more valuable, I'd be down with something like that.

I saw the @BucksFilmRoom guy floated a straight up Brook for Carter swap and that is a non-starter to me.

Bucks Trade: Khris Middleton
Bucks Receive: Colin Sexton, Wendell Carter

Magic Trade: Wendell Carter, pick #18, Nuggets protected 25 1st
Magic Receive: Khris Middleton

Jazz Trade: Sexton
Jazz Receive: Pick #18, 25 Nuggets protected 1st

Then the Bucks could turn around and do the Brook for Bruce Brown deal or whatever defensive wing you can get.

Dame
Sexton
Brown (or whoever else)
Giannis
Carter

Keep pick #23 and take BPA. Keep Portis as 6th man.

A 23 year old on a 4 year deal just north of the Mid level exception with a team option on the final year seems like a good deal. Even if he doesn't improve he is still a top 8 type player on a playoff team

Man. people just latch on to anything when it comes to Midds haha. I don't think Doc is the one who convinces Giannis/the organisation that Midds is the one to go. The core pieces to me read as Brook, Bobby and probably Pat.

If Horst were talking blockbuster scenarios he’d be as quiet as can be too.
