It's funny because while not being a Jay Bilas acolyte, I was always fine with the players getting paid, I did worry about it messing with some good aspects of the game (and it has, to some degree). Specifically, it makes it harder for Wisconsin to be consistently good IMO - at least in the way they used to do it.

But now I hear guys like Bennett talking like this and my response is *jerkoff motion*. Buddy, you made like $20+ million coaching. Survive and adapt. If you don't wanna adapt, that's fine. He could've offloaded some of the roster management stuff and collected a paycheck for at least another decade. Somebody else will be willing to do it in a "modern" way.

It sucks losing 5-6 guys from your roster every year, but there are coaches that will make lemonade out of lemons here. I think part of Bennett's angst is the game changing also favoring more offense (and 4-year player development being not a thing) and he felt like a fossil.

A decent pod on the subject from last week. This is related to college football but it applies to college basketball. It makes an argument for collegiate teams to adopt pro-style organizational structure. GMs, Directors of Player Personnel, "salary cap" analysts, etc.

Ah damn. Stupid blue checkmark. I even did a quick glance at the guys timeline but obviously didn't go deep enough

Yeah, they aren't hiring anyone right now. Ron Sanchez is the coach this year and then they will do a national search (I'm sure they are making lists right now, but that's probably it). Hopefully they will have a good season - define that how you will - the players will want to stay, and Sanchez will be hired full time, but who knows.

With Bucks looking like dookie, I am stoked for Panther hoops this year. Its tourney or bust for them this year.

If Kalkbrenner added a reliable 3 point shot to his game...

Flagg is good. Very unassuming; never looked like he was dominating until like 4-5 minutes left, but he racked up some points. Star potential. Still not convinced it's superstar, 'best prospect since AD' or whatever potential.

ETA: He also turned it over twice in iso to end the game lol.

Holy balls.

Flagg is pretty good.

Franz Wagner but taller and 4" taller.

Milwaukee won 3 straight this weekend at the Arena, newcomer Stillwell is a player averaging a double double to start the year off.

Define worse. if you are at a top school with a lot of NIL money, it's a lot easier to be a 'great' coach than in the nba with a salary cap

Worst as in the lowest quality basketball.

If I was in my current profession, a highly respected leader at some middling tech company that suits my skills well, with an easier ability to succeed at my job, I don't think I'd care that I need to ascend to Google or whatever for the same salary.

Incredible work by Mike Woodson yet again building a roster with one guy that can reliably shoot a 3 point shot.

Would also add there are more fall back plans where there's probably 50-75 decent jobs. Hell, a guy like Brian Wardle is pulling in $800k at Bradley.

How about this: you're the executive of a non-profit whose ethics match your values. The board of directors votes to take the company in a radically different direction and becomes a for profit corporation. You're working in the same field but the nature of the work has changed, and your once-stable staff is now experiencing the kind of churn that accompanies the changed culture of your workplace. But also, there are established for profit companies with a depth of talent and a project portfolio that flatly annihilates your company's capabilities. So now you've lost the core ethic that attracted you to the work, you've lost the consistency that suits the life you want for yourself, and all the downsides remain. Now what?

Single session tickets are now available for first round games in Milwaukee March 21 and March 23. The March 21 afternoon and evening sessions (2 games each) can be had for $75 including fees. These are uppers. Lowers are sold out (you can buy on the secondary market of course). The Sunday session (also 2 games) go for $149 for uppers. Lowers also sold out for that.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Yeah hes an absolute menace on the glass. Plays extremely hard, strong, and good feel for the rebounds. Milwaukee actually has a pretty solid squad this year.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
