Coming up to the end of SM2. It's a really great game.
I've been watching Souls videos at work lately I'm probably gonna dive back into one next, if for no other reason they're a time suck. I never got too far into Sekiro but I feel like I'm better prepared for the parrying gameplay. I also might do Elden Ring again too.

Spiderman 2 is amazing. The game is a technical marvel. It’s just unbelievable how good it looks on fidelity mode while still maintaining solid performance, especially considering the scale of the game and how detailed the open world is. I’ve stopped way too many times mid game just in awe of how good the game looks lol, it’s one of those games that truly feels next gen.
I’ve yet to fast travel anywhere even if the objective is like 5000m away, I’m like 20 hours in and the traversal is still endlessly fun. Once you get a hang of all the combos, abilities, etc the combat is sick too. And the story is top tier as expected.

This is actually where the technology wowed me the most. I got to the endgame without ever using fast travel, but when I looked at my overall progress I noticed I only had a handful of missions and items to collect to get to 100%. So I started using it to jump from spot to spot and I was amazed at how it was all basically done instantly.

Sounds like the Star Ocean 2 remake was a homerun. Cannot wait to play it. I think that + C:S2 + the next POE league will take me through the end of the year and into 2024.

I did and collected 100% of SM2's content and at the end I still want more. Just an incredible game. No negatives to speak of.

I will be playing.
Also cautiously optimistic about WoW classic+. Vanilla WoW was one of the best gaming periods of my life and hopeful Blizzard just lets us be happy.

Blizzard is dead. It's Activision Microsoft now.

Same. It’s remarkable how fast the fast travel is but I only used it in the end game.
Got the 100% on this just like I did the first two and now I shall sit back and pray for DLC like the first game had. I think there’s at least one pretty obvious direction they can go for DLC that might not make sense for the next game.

Decided to make Bloodborne my replay. I love this game, but man, coming to after SM2 is ROUGH. It desperately needs a remaster.

Random question but any Audible app users having a ton of problems the last couple days with it just stopping playing like every 15 minutes? Trying to figure out if it's something with my phone or a general problem right now.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Getting an expansion next year. I kind of hope they do more than the line expansion Diablo 3 received (especially because Reaper of Souls rocked).

WoW classic is definitely worth giving a try.

I haven't watched the deep dive yet but I was very curious about the little tease they gave of it at the opening address.

OK I think I'll give it a go. Personally I wish they got a little crazier with some of the runic powers, but I get wanting to keep class fantasy

If I’ve never played WoW before but want to try, where would I start?

Depends on what you're looking for. The Classic season of discovery that's starting Nov. 30 sounds like it may be a great place to start because without a beta or PTR the game won't be immediately "figured out" for the first time in a long time. But retail WoW has a lot of the more modern mechanics a lot of players like - group finders that automatically teleport you to whatever dungeon you want in the game, very fast leveling, much more solo-able. Classic is more like old school MMOs where there's a heavier emphasis on community. The downside to jumping into retail right now is it's currently in the middle of it's current expansion and the next isn't coming until what sounds like the end of 2024, but you'd have more than enough time to hit current end game in that timeframe and the same subscription is required for both so you could try them both out. There is a free trial for retail WoW on their website, but that doesn't include classic. It might still give you a sense of if the type of overall gameplay is for you, though.
