I get Illyasova, Mayo, Henson, and even Brandon Knight, but I've never really understood the Sanders talk. He's already shown his shotblocking ability and he has the athleticism and youth to get better on both ends of the floor. To me, that's something you can build around when your constructing a winning team.

Have his troubles this year really turned people off to the degree that you just want him gone?

It isn't as much hating him as a player/person but rather maximize on an asset who is an age group or two above where the guys you are hoping will eventually lead you to a championship are.

I'd try like hell for Knight/Henson rather than Sanders for #7 and Nash's contract.

I can't give up on Larry yet. I know the risks involved but he can be as impactful as anyone on defense when he's right. If they don't bite I don't do it.

I just can't see someone like Vonleh or Smart impacting the game like Sanders can.

What if the first 6 picks are Embiid, Wiggins, Parker, Exum, Smart, Vonleh? I guess I'd go Saric or Stauskas but I'd be terrified that we'd take Randle.

Eta: the more I think about it, the more I think the Lakers would be a good partner, and that they would prefer multiple players rather than Sanders. Kobe is such a cap eater, and they have like no one under contract. Say we can give them Knight, Henson, and Miroslav for Nash and 7. They dump Nash's dead weight and get three cheap contributors instead of one. We also free up roster space for our 4 draft picks.

The Lakers would only do it if Sanders was involved. They only do trades for stars or win-now players, and Henson isn't either of those and they already have Sacre and they could easily resign Ryan Kelly or Jordan Hill.

And Steve Nash wouldn't/won't go to Milwaukee.

Sacre? I think I'd take Henson over Sacre.

Also, I don't think Nash would have any say. Unless we wanted to be nice and buy him out or something, I believe he could either play here or retire.

Bingo. He's shacked up in Manhattan Beach going through physical therapy just to collect on the rest of the $7 mil left on his contract. He made it clear that he was only leaving Phoenix for LA or New York, and I think if he were traded to Milwaukee he'd just call it a day.

As far as Sacre vs Henson...I don't think the difference between the players is enough to impact what the Lakers are trying to do. They need impact players. Why would they trade the 7th pick for a player who figures to be a reserve big when one of the 3 they have signed is a reserve big?

So we'd be off the hook for his contract? Even better.

The difference between Parker's and Wiggins' first step is just absurd. Like he says in the Wiggins video, that's just not a coachable trait.

I'm entirely locked on Wiggins for our pick.

If this dream Lakers trade goes down, which pairings excite you the most? For me it wouldn't get better than Embiid and Saric. If Embiid goes first I'd be almost as delighted with Parker and Randle.

Has there been genuine speculation and rumor surrounding this from journalists or is it just a hypothetical scenario contained to this board?

That plus an idea (nothing tangible) that Chad Ford floated out in a draft chat.

For me it would almost depend on who we'd get at 7. If we we're to pick Randle there I'd prefer Wiggins at 2. If Smart was there at 7 I think it's Jabari all the way at 2. I think drafting both Parker and Randle would be a more then a little redundant with Giannis at the 3

Wiggins & Gordon.

Imagine the fastbreaks with Giannis with the ball in his hands.

I heard about Andrew Wiggins from an article when he was being recruited by Florida State. Anytime talk of him afterward had my attention, "who is this guy?" I wondered. I kept hearing about his crazy athleticism. Coming into this season, I tried to watch every video I could, "man, that kid can jump" I thought to myself. I also thought, "what a cool name!"

NCAA season takes starts, I tune in intently. Meanwhile I am curious about these other kids Julius Randle and Jabari Parker, so I tune into their games eagerly as well. The first Kansas game I watch is against a nobody. I watch Wiggins every move, waiting ... however, there is this tall dude named Joel Embiid that keeps distracting me. "Holy crap who is this guy?" I start saying to myself. I continue to tune into all Kansas, Duke, and Kentucky games. Parker looks like a pro, Randle looks like a pro, but still I focus mainly on Kansas, because this Wiggins guy can jump high and they tell me he is the next big time player.

In December, it becomes obvious the Bucks might be front runners for the lottery. My focus intensifies. The order of my nightly viewing becomes centered around the Bucks, followed by Kansas (I mean, boy, can this Wiggins kid jump, and they tell me he is amazing) then either Duke or Kentucky with a little splash of Wisconsin, Arizona and Oklahoma State, then all other things NBA. Really though, I was watching Kansas for this Embiid kid, "my goodness" I think to myself, even on his bad plays. I watch, trying to remind myself that there is guy in the game with the cool name and can really jump high. "This Wiggins kid plays such good defense" I think to myself. "Soon ... he is going to show he is a force to be reckoned with ... soon" I kept hoping. Meanwhile, I saw that the other players named Parker and Randle could really bring it. The Randle kid looks pro-ready, but a little sloppy. The Parker kid is obviously the best player on the floor in every game. Still though, that Wiggins guy, he has to be great, they told me so, and boy can he jump and now I know he can play D too! Yippie!

I realized some time ago that defense is an important part of the game, thus, this makes me a basketball genius and therefore I'm going teach the basketball world that defense is important and all will acknowledge me as a great basketball mind, "you mean there is more than scoring points?" they will shout in exclamation as I am the first person ever to notice this part of the game.

As the season goes on, I realize the Bucks have an almost certain shot at landing one of these guys. I watch every Giannis minute I can while checking out the players that might play along side him when Drew takes him out. There was crucial moment in all this. Kansas was playing a full 2.5 hours before the Bucks. Embiid was out with a knee injury. I was going to see Andrew Wiggins completely do something, I don't know what something, but I'm waiting, its going to happen. Midway through the first half I wished Embiid was playing. I was bored. However, I realized Giannis was coming up, and he was like Wiggins, a very athletic tall and long 2/3 player. That was so much more exciting than laboring through this Wiggins game. Still I did .. and I was so thankful to hear the FSN theme song as I flipped between the two games. If I recall, Perry Ellis was kick ass that night and I think I saw Wiggins jump a few times.

I keep watching, absorbing everything I can, about every single prospect who may go in the top five, rooting for the Bucks to lose, waiting for Wiggins to do something. "He has to do something right? He is still projected top 3," I tell myself. He has one, exactly one, spectacular game in an early Saturday afternoon loss. "This is it!" I tell myself, "that amazing guy from Cameroon is out. I'm certain that now Andrew Wiggins will not only jump really high and play solid D, but this is where we see the future." A few more games of watching, anticipating, dying for this kid from Canada who can jump so high to actually play basketball not deliver and suddenly KU is done. That part of the fun is over.

The Bucks finish with the worst record and I suffered through at least 70 of those games. I focus heavily on every interview, highlight real and article regarding one of these kids. Embiid and Parker are obvious ballers, this Exum kid may be the next big thing, but still, they tell me this Wiggins kid is something special and I'm still waiting, "it really could be true," I tell myself and "boy, can that kid jump."

Lottery night comes, the Bucks end up with number 2 ...

TL;DR - I bought into the Wiggins preseason hype like none other and was unsurprisingly disappointed.

Sounds like you missed the duke/Kansas game at the beginning of November.

Cool narrative though, must have taken some time to type that out.

Wiggins is the guy for me at two if he is still there. I really hope that Cle takes Embid. He would be a player that could shock the NBA, yet there are some many concerns there.

If Cleveland really hopes to somehow bring Lebron back home in the near future, Joel 'might be' the deal-maker. Taking on Wiggins for the Cavs muddles that up a bit. Kyrie, Lebron, their young roster, and a healthy Embid could run the gambit for quite a few years as a stalwart. The East might get that leg up on the West again.

I really don't like Parker for the Bucks... he reminds my of Tobes too much.

I would much rather have a long uber athletic core of Sanders, Giannis, Wiggins, Middleton, and Wright. Keep Wolters, Adrien, Rad, and Zaza (potential deadline piece). Maybe give Illy another go around... add the picks, and trade pieces

Say goodbye to Udoh, Henson, Sessions, Knight, Delfino, and Mayo. Put any combination together to get roster spots and cut salary futures. I would dig the Lakers 7 pick if we could package any or most of these guys and snag Nash for the multitude of beneficial outcomes that this could procure. He might not play, more spots, some coach em up from one of the best distributors, salary bennies... etc why not...

I would hate to give up Sanders in that deal, but he might the perfect culture change move. It would be a rough season again, but cash wise the Bucks would be better off. I like Larry, he is an eclectic individual... tough decision there either way. He could become a phoenix this season, but I cannot predict his future.

Somehow, ultimately... the new ownership team has to make it fun to be in Milwaukee. We need a cohesive roster, with a vision of potential success around the corner. That corner, being within a three year period or less.
I needs shades for this future thing we owning..... 8-) 8-) 8-)
