“So when it gets down to the point where he throws his hands in the air publically and says “Look I already told them there’s nothing more I can do.” And management sees it and then he feels comfortable enough to MF a few people because he still thinks he’s Jason Kidd. And they say finally, no, this is done. So they take him out of the building. He goes and sits down to break some bread and then they tell him “Hey you’re out of a job.” So that’s how it all went down. So I was wondering why they didn’t can him on Sunday and now I get some of the details that are starting to be given to me. Made a few calls, talked to a few people and that’s kinda the way I understand it to go down.
Some more extra info:
Confirms reports that Jabari and Kidd weren't speaking. Had a non-existent relationship. The blowup at shootaround was between numerous people. "Kidd was involved, players were involved, other people were involved." It was all over and done with in about 20 minutes. There was a sizable group of players in the locker room that no longer respected Kidd and didn't think he had their back. There was a smaller group of 3-4 guys that were still loyal Kidd fans. Ownership knew this was inevitable, but didn't agree on whether to do it now or at the end of the season. Noted that Wes Edens was the only owner present at the Bradley Center yesterday and was also the owner who most vocally backed Horst for the GM job over the summer“
The Jabari stuff seems legit.I can easily see Kidd pushing for a jabari trade in order to bring in some veteran. That would cause their relationship to turn bad real quick imo.
I wonder which player was in which camp if this is true. The comments on reddit say middleton was anti-Kidd but i find that hard to believe.I always felt that no matter what he did Kidd never called him out on it.He pretty much had free reign on the team.
If i had to guess who was pro-Kidd i would go with Giannis,Midds and terry.
