If you were Horst, you would offer him a 1-year deal with 4 player options.
Again, I am not Horts, but if I was, one question would remain foreskin in my mind and that is, "What can brown do for you?" I can tell you waht Fedex did for me: severe carpal tunnel in my wrists and a trailer I'm still making payments on. I'd offer Giannis what I wish was offered to me: three squares, daylight hours and a healthy enough salary that I didn't have to choose between pants or a night at Dave and Buster's. Like Donte Ellis, he can have all of it.imo

Why combine one nearly insignificant thing with the most important news in franchise history?

I hope Giannis signs with you guys. I actually root for him. He needs a little more help but the lay off really hurt you guys.
I can imagine him being okay with being Lebron B.

I hope Giannis knows that there’s always money in the banana stand.
Throw out a banana, take a dollar.

I guess that means he's going to sign and reserve the right to demand a trade at any time (which, duh).

That was always the smart play on his behalf (superstar MO). Still weird to see it stated like that in a headline.
Go Bucks!

Again, all of this is all presumptuous reporting for clicks and views. More of me wants him to sign so the media doesn't get the satisfaction of fawning all over where he might go next offseason.

I’m thinking that won’t stop them. If they write it enough, they will try and will it into existence.
Go Bucks!

I think universally all bucks fans want to have Giannis sign the extension so we can all tell the media to
STFU!

"A belief was building that Antetokounmpo was likely to opt for immediate financial security by signing before the season and quietly reserving the right to try to force a trade later if he was unhappy....."
"Belief that Giannis Antetokounmpo leaning toward signing a similar free agent deal to every single other free agent since the dawn of time" didn't have the same ring to it for the headline.

The second Giannis puts pen to paper, the media, and rival fans on internet message boards will then pivot to "Will Giannis ask for a trade if the Bucks don't make the Finals?"
You guys know this. It's a never-ending cycle. So don't fall into the trap.

A bunch of reporters and colleagues in a zoom with Stein. Stein - "You guys would have to think he'll throw a right to trade in his contract right"? Everyone - "Uggghhh, yeah, why wouldn't he??<munching on a pastry>"
Stein - "Let me call one of my exec connections in the NBA.
Stein - "Hey Bob the Executive, would it make sense for you to believe that Giannis would add a implicit right to future trade in his super max??"
Bob the Executive - "Umm, sure, Mark. I suppose that would be possible. I think he'll do that if I had to guess"
Stein - "Thought so, Bob! Thanks!!"

In fairness to Stein, I believe the Windhorst created the "implicit trade right" concept on his pod two weeks ago. Media seems resigned to the fact Giannis might re-sign here, so they themselves need this loophole to keep the discussion going.
On the other hand, it is a loophole with precedent, ie. Westbrook and OKC.

Re: Giannis Thread - 2 Time MVP - The Contract discussions
so is implicit right, is that a legally binding part of the contract, or just a handshake type of thing?
Either way, great, we get to hear the media speculate the whole next five years too

Yup. And they won't stop until they will it into existence.
