I'm really confused by this. According to my math it's not. Once Jrue's contract heads over we'll have space (depending on the unknown figures of his incentives).

Matt isn't really very good at doing anything other than reporting so i'm not suprised. However, he is friends with Frank Madden so i'm sure he could always ask.
 this is so sad but so true. It's hilarious that someone whose career isn't even basketball related has more cap knowledge (and possibly even sources) than our actual reporters lol.

No moves are official yet. Not even the Jrue trade. So while you think you may know all the ins and outs of every option, etc. because John Hollinger speculated some garbage, no one does.

Jon Horst won Exec of the Year in 2019. Google it.

Crazy to win an award in 2019 for moves made in late 2020.

The point was made to posit that he knows WTF he's doing. He's not Larry Harris.

Have you ever looked at a list of the winners of this award? It's not a papacy.

No? It was you who started calling me out for being a negative after I gave my early feedback on the offseason. Me, who didn't partake in the doom and gloom in the Bogdanovic thread at all. And I don't know how you got here but somehow now you're trying to turn this into 'Are executives of the year good executives' and forcing me to dissent. Way to move the goal post.

I don't care about that debate. I'm very open to debate but you're not adding anything to my viewpoint.

Look man, I've been on this board since 2009. I've been through all the s*** this team has done. What I'm saying is let's all embrace the fact that we are re-loaded with a legit third star this season with a very solid supporting cast.

Yes, losing out on Bogdan sucks, but it was likely his agent messing with us/him not wanting to be here. That's his loss. Let's get a backup center, deal DJ/Donte for an upgrade if an opportunity presents itself, then let's go win the East for the first time since 1974.

Who cares if he's Larry Harris? Who said he was Larry Harris?

Is the roster hugely improved?

I don't have to watch Eric Bledsoe play for this team in the playoffs anymore, so helllllllll yes.

Ok, great! An actual opinion. Hope you keep this in mind when helpful players become available over the next 7 years and we're on the sidelines. Because our competitors will not be.

not saying he's doncic, but couldn't you say from the eye test, doncic has most of merrill's perceived weakness's? i have a feeling about this guy's intangibles

He definitely is not Doncic haha but I will say the first thing I noticed watching him is he has a tendency to cross his legs on his jumper the same way Luka does.

If I'm right we could see the 15th guy soon.

Give me Frank Mason to fill that final spot. Dump Wilson for a pick.

What pick, a 2039 7th?

I think this team is better than the 2020 version, and likely better than the 2019 version. We're still on the championship shortlist, and that's great, but we also keep taking unnecessary hits around the edges, and that **** is adding up. I'm not even counting the Bogdan fiasco in that summation (because we still have no clue what really went down there). Not getting the $13 million trade exception last year, the DJ Wilson contract pickup when it was obvious we had no plan for him, being cleaned out of our draft assets through 2027, how we managed the Augustin and Pat C contracts and likely losing a roster spot (and the ability to pick up a Marvin Williams mid-season) in the process. These are just the most obvious examples of value left on the table.

Like, I'm not asking for the moon here. Delete Wilson, give me the 2027 first, and revert the Pat C deal to 2/8 (which was already a C-). That's at minimum a warm body plus the ability snag a ring chaser right now, not to mention more flexibility over the next couple of years for another George Hill level snag when the opportunity arises.

Sais as he praises the exact person who brought Eric Bledsoe to the Bucks in the first place. :o

I think that the biggest change here is the consistency you get with Jrue Holiday. Bledsoe would have been an incredible player if someone could have reined in his terrible decision making and playing out of control. Jrue Holiday is a more consistent version of Eric Bledsoe. The difference in this team between when we got 2 stars (or 1 if Middleton was in a funk) and 3 stars (when Bledsoe was on) was incredibly different. It makes a ton of sense that we want to have 3 stars instead of 2.5. Watching Bledsoe was like playing a video game and counting on crit percentage.
