Matisse Thybulle shot the ball well in Portland in a small sample size, but not ridiculously small (33-85). If he shoots at that level with his defensive ability would basically be the ideal 5th starter on this team. Hard to get to him though without giving up Pat or Bobby and that would probably be a little too rich a price.

I will say at least Simmons called out the talking head opinion that the Suns got multiple rotational players for Ayton, pointing out Nurkic is awful and Grayson can’t play in the playoffs, so really they got worse. So it’s a bad deal unless there are some real awful Ayton stories we haven’t heard.

Not a top option, but a cheap option that can really defend is Kris Dunn. If we'd signed him instead of the corpse of Goran Dragic we'd already have what we need. Dunn was awesome late last season for Utah after they signed him out of the G League.

Bruce Brown and Gary Payton II. Come to think of it, that's pretty much exactly what you want AJJ to be....

Yeah you can't play on a championship level without a dog like that. We needed 3(Jrue,Wes,Carter) in Bud's era because of our drop defense and them having to go over screens like maniaks all the time. Maybe one will do if coach Griffin tweaks the defense enough.

The goal is not to have a top 3 defense like in the past but a defense just good enough with both Lillard and Middleton in the lineup. Either with Lopez or with Giannis in small ball lineups.

Offense will take care of the rest...

dude is **** pumped hahaha i love it

i wonder how Marjon feels about all of this. from what i understand, he grew up in Oregon. i'm assuming that means he was a blazers fan but who knows, but the kid could be playing next to his idol soon. that's wild.

He grew up in Yakima, WA. But he was only 6 when the Sonics moved to OKC ( :o ), so stands to reason he grew up a Blazers fan.

Dame has a 10 page thank you to rip city on his IG, it's really nice and genuine and heartfelt.

It really shows such a kind gesture and impresses me about his character.

Also he shout outs to Terry Stotts "without you I wouldn't have become myself as a full player."

Horst with that Terry stotts pick up playing some 3D chess this summer.

But is any team going to even bother to guard Beasley or Brook on the perimeter? I’m assuming teams are going to have like 4 guys trying to cover Lillard and Giannis while the 5th is in the vicinity of Khris wondering if he should be helping the other 4. :D

I'm sorry to tell you guys this but Beasley is cooked. Watched him on the Lakers last year. He will have one game where he seems like he couldn't miss and then follow that up with 5-6 games of where he can't make jack ****. He was open a lot from Lebron's drives.

I think the biggest thing is that we need an on ball defender next to Dame. Quickley is still the best option there, if he becomes available I hope we pounce.

Heidl is intriguing (have to get Jalen Smith back too). Our offense would be as amazing as our D would be awful. Plus we’d have to give up Pat, friend of Giannis, teammate of Dame, knows Stotts offense, overall good locker room presence and mentor for the younglings in the weight room. Going from Bobby to Jalen is a step back defensively too, and Bobby is also a great teammate. Bobby should have a bounce back season shootingwise. Mad scientist in me would love to watch the offense cook but the D would be such a trainwreck.

Tre Mann. Athletic as hell. Good shooter but streaky. Not a defensive stopper but with his athleticism could be coached/mentored into something decent. I think Tre has an Anfernee Simons level breakout season this year. Offense and ball handling would be very dynamic.

Gortman. Good on ball, high level effort and athleticism, puts his chest into guys like Jrue, good hands. Good ball handler, streaky shooter. We need to have him on a two way at least and i wouldn’t be upset with a regular contract. Young but I think he will be a sponge in camp.

TyTy. Best PG option, good/great ast/to ratio and PnR guy. Needs to get stronger/ hit the weight room. Could elevate him and give Gortman his two way.

Terence Davis. Good defender. Good scorer. Good ball-handler and passer. I would have signed him over Beasley. Would rather see what we have in Dre, MarJon, AJG, Jae at this point.
Shoot, Move, and Communicate...

Hield's 47.5% on corner 3's is indeed very intriguing, the efficiency offensively with Dame, Hield, Khris, Giannis, and Brook would be unmatched. One thing is that the Bucks do not have a way to get Jalen Smith back in a trade along with Hield, they could get Isaiah Jackson back though which would help add defense, athleticism, and rebounding. Point of attack defender would still be an issue. Kris Dunn (last year's Jazz version) would be a great type of addition, I think the Jazz really like him though but an AJ Green swap for him could maybe be a possibility when Green is able to be traded.

That being said, I keep coming back to the thinking of the value that Bobby and Pat provide not only for team unity after just losing a tremendous teammate in Jrue, but also because of their playoff and championship experience. On the other hand, Pat really struggled last year for most of the year but he was a Bud favorite and a great glue guy, with a new coaching staff it will be interesting to see if he is used in a similar way as he was with the past regime and if he has the same value on the current roster.
Dealing with people who exhibit the "smartest person in the room" syndrome can be a challenge. One approach is to listen their opinion while also encouraging open-mindedness. It's important to create an environment where all voices are valued.

Guys, just imagine the potential 'ring chasers' that might choose the Bucks at the deadline.

No Bucks teammates have ever both scored 50 or more in the same game.

I remember Big Dogg and Vin both got 40 in the same game once, but I'm like 99.9% sure no Bucks teammates have ever scored 50. That's something to look out for this season.

No teammates have ever scored 50 in the same game. Not even close, really.

Teammates have scored 50 in a game in the same SEASON 7 times.
