Would have made a lot of sense to buy a late first or another second and have another young prospect fill that role. But by some internal Herb Kohl law, we are only allowed to have one first and one second round pick on the roster each year.

New coaching staff and there's been a mention of on-court minutes being the most important thing with regards to minutes.

I'd be mildly surprised if Yanni isn't a regular rotation guy this season.

We'd all love to see it.

But if I had to guess, Drew is an old school guy who likely gets caught up in the win now culture and plays the crap out of those vets. I suppose anything is better than Skiles was in that regard though.

I just wonder if they'll be sellers at the trade deadline, assuming they would be 10-13 games under .500.

it wouldnt surprise me if the tobias situation causes everybody to force more minutes to the young guys either tho. that has to be a black eye league wide for us. i wouldnt be surprised to hear they get ribbed endlessly for it privately in their calls with other teams.

Watching him play in the u20s, I can't imagine we seriously think hes going to be a major part of the rotation. He looks fluid, but hardly like he is ready for 15-20+ mpg in the NBA. Then again, its not easy to predict since clearly the game is so different.

If I had to guess, I would say we're gonna let Jennings walk and bring in Nate Robinson on a 3/$15m deal to replace him.

I definitely think he'd be a negative on the court, but most backups are. I think he's got average NBA passing ability, above average rebounding for the position. He really attacks the glass. He also appears to be a guy you at least have to pay attention to on the perimeter.

I think his foul rate will be huge and he'd be a wreck defensively.

That being said, I do think they find a way to get him regular minutes.

I agree, we have paid a lot of lip service to the idea that we are going to play him, it would be weird if we didn't at this point.

That would be on hell of a bold move. I don't want Jennings and think he'd be a bad influence if they brought him back next year. But the waste of the asset from 10th overall pick in 2009 to the 55 point game to almost making the all star team two years ago to letting him walk outright? Yeah, that would be an interesting thread on here.

It's really damn similar to this season honestly. All the "experts" were claiming we were going to be atrocious where most here said we'd be extremely mediocre. Hell, Vegas had us winning like 20 games and we easily covered that before we even got Salmons. Much like that team before we got Salmons, we're going to be stupid mediocre.

Right and they signed Teague. Teague to the bench pretty quickly perhaps.

Wat? Schroeder is 19 and needs to adapt to the NBA after playing in Germany. The Hawks obviously are not in tank mode after signing Mansap while bringing back both Teague and Korver.

I was saying inside that 4 year signing, he will be going to the bench pretty quickly. Not necessarily this year, but who knows.

Teague was coming here to be the man, in Atlanta he wont be. He signed a 4 year deal to groom his replacement.
