You guys know this. It's a never-ending cycle. So don't fall into the trap.

Yup. And they won't stop until they will it into existence.

Giannis is the only one who can put it to bed. He'd have to say he's here for life or something. I'd rather he say that even if he doesn't mean it.

“Implicit right to trade” sounds a lot like “circumvention of the CBA”
Please reconsider your animal consumption.

This is just media talk, pretty obvious there'd be some type of agreement like this IMO. With what's been going on the past couple seasons, this was probably expected. Get him to sign, worry about the rest later.

Why is there a need to wait for Giannis to return to Milwaukee to sign the extension? The Bucks can Fedex the contract to him in Greece and he can sign it there.

either way, at least it'd give the franchise a whole lot more protection instead of him just bolting without compensation after this year.
We won't have to worry though, since we're winning it all the next few years at least :D

Honestly I doubt that would stop the media. They’d just say superstars change their minds all the time

Either way, great, we get to hear the media speculate the whole next five years too :noway:

Have seen probably ten "expert blogger" and ESPN writer takes this morning about how the Heat can still obtain Giannis, post Bam getting his extension yesterday.

Wtf?

"A belief was building that Antetokounmpo was likely to opt for immediate financial security by signing before the season and quietly reserving the right to try to force a trade later if he was unhappy....."

"Belief that Giannis Antetokounmpo leaning toward signing a similar free agent deal to every single other free agent since the dawn of time" didn't have the same ring to it for the headline.

A bunch of reporters and colleagues in a zoom with Stein. Stein - "You guys would have to think he'll throw a right to trade in his contract right"? Everyone - "Uggghhh, yeah, why wouldn't he??<munching on a pastry>"

Stein - "Let me call one of my exec connections in the NBA.

Stein - "Hey Bob the Executive, would it make sense for you to believe that Giannis would add a implicit right to future trade in his super max??"

Bob the Executive - "Umm, sure, Mark. I suppose that would be possible. I think he'll do that if I had to guess"

Stein - "Thought so, Bob! Thanks!!"

Stein - <typing tweet>

lol sounds like a bunch of **** from the media. Players have been demanding trades for the last 20 years more frequently without any "implicit right" in their contracts, nothing has stopped them. If he wanted out he would just ask for a trade.

Giannis: “Nothing. Just get a ring now.”

The Bleacher report stuff on Lasry and the Bogdan deal is in the Bucks news thread, let's talk about that there and not in the Giannis thread.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Again, I am not Horts, but if I was, one question would remain foreskin in my mind and that is, "What can brown do for you?" I can tell you waht Fedex did for me: severe carpal tunnel in my wrists and a trailer I'm still making payments on. I'd offer Giannis what I wish was offered to me: three squares, daylight hours and a healthy enough salary that I didn't have to choose between pants or a night at Dave and Buster's. Like Donte Ellis, he can have all of it.imo

Hark, The Poster is "in his bag"

It's not so much the posts as it is the journey to making the posts. Go Bucks.

In theory, if Giannis was faxed a contract and he signed it, wouldn’t the team wait for him to come back and do some photo opp signing celebration where he “signs” some random stack of papers?

This could be in the bag and all for the clix.

Listening to the Giannis pod with Woj, and my god, how Giannis isn't a Hawk is an all-time NBA draft blunder.

Also hilarious how little homework Hammond did on him. Ultimate gunslinger move on his part. Dumb luck that it worked. Leads me to believe that his two biggest moves Giannis/Middleton are both instances of total luck rather than any kind of quality scouting or basketball acumen.

It's amazing. The entire pod is Atlanta and how they're on him as a pick, and then oh **** Milwaukee takes him. Atlanta had two picks and didn't move up. It's insane.

What makes it even more ironic is that the Hawks pulled out of the Josh Smith deal the offseason before, and if they hadn't, they would have had Giannis anyway. The irony of Hammond only getting Giannis because he didn't make a win now trade that would have gotten us nowhere is still hilarious to this day.

I knew they wanted him but I had no idea on all the background stuff, that they flew him in secretly and gave him the grand tour and had him meet Bud before the draft and everything. Completely insane that they just sat there and let a player they felt that strongly about get away.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
