Imo that's too much to give up for Oladipo. Indy will get something very similar in value from some team but I hope it's not us.

No chance I would give up that much for Oladipo.
still learning the game

If we trade for CP3, Giannis should switch to C full time.

I just honestly don't know about that anymore.

Same. I'd like to see better depth at the 2-4 position, allowing a few different looks for those sparing Giannis at C lineups. Nothing full-time.

Yeah I don’t think Giannis physically could handle full time C a la PJ Tucker for an entire season and there are still some big man things that he’s not the greatest at. Might not be Brook necessarily but we do need a legit starting C.

For the people that say he can't handle a full-time spot at Center, what's the reasoning behind that? I'm curious because I think he could handle it fine. He's bigger than a lot of centers as is, and I don't think there's too many that can just manhandle him in the post. What am I missing?

Looking around the league, Giannis is bigger than a giant chunk of the starting centers.

Physically he's fine. Mentally I think he somewhat shrinks and makes a lot of bad mistakes when the physicality increases.

Also honestly, I don't think he wants to.

Giannis is huge and the banging low post game is dead in the NBA. He'd be a perfect center.

Giannis at C takes away so much of his ability to help defensively. Even when Ersan/Marvin played without a Lopez this year, they guarded the 5, not Giannis.

It's not just post defense, it's constant fighting for position, boxouts/fighting for boards, all the physical, dirty work that Brook does right now against big bodies that nobody but Bucks fans appreciate, that would all fall on Giannis. I think an 82 game season of him banging with the likes of Embiid, Jokic, Nurkic, Gobert, Vucevic, KAT, Bam, Gasol/Ibaka, even lower tier guys like Steven Adams, Valanciunas, Drummond, Baynes, Dwight/Javale, etc. full time with no relief would take its toll on him. I think you'd see several back, knee, or ankle issues and I think he'd be worn down by playoff time.

It's a cool idea on paper but I think in reality it's gotta be more of a 50-50 mix of PF/C.

If Giannis is at C we're probably not playing the same defense, we're probably switching and/or trapping instead of dropping on high screens, and all the tasks that fall on Brook would be distributed, but across 4 players, not just Giannis.

For me, the Giannis at C? question distills into Who are the other 4 players? It's about putting a coherent unit on the court, not how many of those guys are bigger than Giannis.

Good, this defense doesn't work in the playoffs.

Depends on the opponent. Sadly, we'd match up very well with the Lakers.

Imo that's too much to give up for Oladipo. Indy will get something very similar in value from some team but I hope it's not us.

Agree. Oladipo was Jordan for 1 season, but has been Donte for the other 6 seasons.

Eh I'd trade that package for Thunder Oladipo but post injury Oladipo on a one year contract and expecting a huge extension isn't someone I'd want to invest into.

We'd have plenty of holes to fill (resigning Wes would help a lot) but this foundation could be way worse (particularly if the Thunder insist on us sending them Donte):

PG: Paul, Hill
SG: Donte
SF: Middleton, Giannis Bro
PF: Giannis
C: Lonely BroLo

Keeping 24 would be nice, I think we could still get a guy like Ramsey, Tyrell or Desmond

CP3/Hill/24
Donte/Wes/24
Middleton/
Giannis/
Brook/

Few guys that might be worth a look in FA to fill a gap at 4/5?
Nerlens, Crowder, Harkless, Cousins, TT, Gasol, Giles

A few more FAs to consider with the tax MLE or minimum: Aaron Baynes, Alex Len, Meyers Leonard, Noah Vonleah, Dragan Bender, Greg Whittington.

If Giannis really doesn't want to bang in the post at center (if only during the regular seasons) than BroLo isn't going anywhere.

In that case that leaves Bledsoe, Hill, Ersan and (for a different tier of trade) Middleton as the potential assets with sizable contracts that we could move.

Not even sure how a Middleton trade would look.

You’d probably have to swing him for a guy who plays a different position, right? Unless if Houston wanted to move on from harden or something.

Sign and trade for Brandon Ingram?

Dame Lillard seems like it’d be a dream.
