Wonder what Morey thinks on nights where Simmons has games like this one.

Both the Nets and 76ers lost today, the Bucks now only 1.5 games back from both teams.

Hope Giannis is healthy. We can go on a mini tear before we play the Sixers/Nets. I want HCA in June.

The West is crazy... between #4 and #10 seeds you have Lebron, Dame, Jokic, Luka and Curry, who do you bet against in the playoffs?

Only because it's LA...
He's 36 going on 37! We've entered the "unheard of" territory a long time ago with this guy, how much longer?

Yikes. This is blistering. (from Defector)

Obi Toppin is so bad it makes you question the very idea of consensus. Though widely hailed as the most “league-ready” player in the 2020 lottery—which in retrospect was just a way to to spin an inconvenient fact (he’s old) into an optimistic lie—the 23-year-old rookie has no business in the NBA. This is not a “low-ceiling, high-floor” prospect; the floor’s somewhere in the earth’s core. His minutes hurt to watch. Hunting for a single redeemable thing in them, on either side of the ball, is mostly futile. Last year’s eighth-overall pick is the kind of bad that clouds the future: It’s hard to see what Toppin even could be if things shook out right.

At this point I think you just have to wait and see. The speculation of his decline has never come to fruition aside from an isolated groin injury and slightly less explosiveness.

Yeah until we have proof that Lebron isn't a cyborg who will go on forever I'm just going to assume that's the case. :)

I thought Obi looked like he was going to be an NBA player. But unlike an NBA GM, I can afford to be wrong.

I was lower on Obi than most people because I didn't see a path for him to effectively guard anyone. Too thin for the bigs and not quick enough for the smalls. But I did think he would find a nitche as a bucket getter on a second unit. Maybe he still will but early returns are not positive.

I thought Obi's best chance was to be a Kenyon Martin-like (and lite) player. Except no actual defense. And he isn't playing with Jason Kidd.

I love that this thread is headlined by Gorgui Dieng, and that its persisted for a while now.

John Henson signs a 10-day contract with the Knicks. When will the NBA level the playing field and stop letting large markets have such a huge advantage in attracting talent?

I knew the Obi hype was excessive when literally every day of the offseason they wouldn’t shut up about him.

Read on Twitter

I like the idea behind this because the foul hunting is out of control, might be hard to actually litigate though.

Another one the should look at and potentially change is if the defender makes incidential contact after the ball is gone after closing out on a shooter that shouldn't be a foul. Now if they are pulling a bruce bowen and sliding under a shooter that's not a basketball play and should be a flagrant.

The challenge thing would be cool if the refs actually reversed calls when they know they are wrong instead of being proud ****s.

Promising that they're at least identifying that foul-hunting/flopping off illegal screens is a huge problem and making the game unwatchable. But just like when they said they'd start "penalizing" flopping, I'll believe they'll actually do something about when I see it.
