Started Dead Space tonight there's very little chance I stick with it. I just don't like horror games, at all. I've usually VERY interested in the story/lore but I don't want to have to play through the games to get it.

ETA: Bumping this down to story mode. So long as there aren't annoyingly stupid puzzles or a lack of direction on where to go, maybe I play through this. I dunno.

Me. CK3 is not that bad. Well worth the money. I’d say basics take like 20 hours or so to get a real hang of. Tons of depth though
Right on. Are you playing with the DLCs? I'll probably just get it all to have the most up to date set up right out of the gate.

I've played a ton of Civ6 and have been playing Old World the past couple months. I really liked the family/dynasty aspect of OW so figured CK3 would be a hard leap into a higher level of that.

I also considered pivoting and checking out a historical city builder like Anno 1800.

Odd question but I assume I don't need the sound on for CK3? I like to listen to music when I play vs the actual game audio.

Highly recommend the DLCs and make sure to check for some of the QOL/content addition mods. Wouldn’t hurt to browse through as they can add a lot to the game, but that’s up to you. I played a ton of CK2 which was significantly harder to get into. They definitely made CK3 much more accessible.

I played Anno a bit (15-20 hours)? Was pretty fun. Have thought about going back to it, but city builders haven’t been too enticing to me lately.

Yeah no need for sound really. Off the top of my head there’s no voice acting really.
I ended up giving CK3 a little run this weekend and then returned it. I've came to the conclusion I'm more a turn based guy. I like to blaze some cannabis and play at my own pace. I know there's a pause button and id probably get used to RTS but it seemed like too big of an undertaking at the time.

Maybe I'll try to get into with a total war game since I think it blends turn based and RTS.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Yeah that's fair. I'm also a big fan of the total war games, but the company and the series in particular are in some major trouble right now. I'd highly recommend sending me a dm if you decide to buy the base game and hold off on buying the dlc.

Coral Island looks like it might satisfy a new Stardew itch.

I've been watching this from afar the past year; looked to me like Stardew x Animal Crossing kind of. Of course it's out this year  Let me know what you think if you play on Gamepass.

It's a massive rip-off of SV. VERY buggy, which surprises me considering today is the 1.0 release. A ton of stuttering, lag, and texture pop-in. If I wasn't in a rut where I've been going back to play very, very old games I probably wouldn't be giving it my time.

But there's potential here.

DB, are you playing Last Faith? I see a Let's Play for Fighting Cowboy; Metroidvania-Soulslike in the vein of S&S. Seems up your alley?

I wasn't that impressed with his review, but I might give it a go next weekend.

I spent the weekend playing Coral Island and I regret all of it.

All that time playing Coral Island really made me pine for Stardew. Have never played it with mods before so I'm gonna give that a go. And cheat, probably.

Ive been into it recently. I kind of suck but theres alot of depth to what you can do. A game you can't really win so I try to set arbitrary goals before starting.

I've been playing Dragonheir. Kind of annoyed how much I enjoy it. I haven't really been playing anything else post-BG3, but they've reeled me in with Drizzt.

I don't love some of the stuff related to the studio developing this one, but the game looks ridiculously good.

Just a bit of an aside, but Chinese mythology is awesome. There's a series called Gujian and the latest game is really fun even though apparently the english subs are pretty bad. Wukang looks great.

Also excited for this game
