Quick random theory. I believe Khris secretly led a mutiny on Kidd. Think about it, Khris was such a smart defender and how many times did you see him out of position. I’m guessing he convinced other guys to do the same until something had to change. I will definitely keep an eye on Khris the next few games to see how he does defensively

Or you could save yourself the trouble of continually changing the name on the coach's office door and acknowledge that who is on the sidelines may not be strongly correlated to team performance.

KG's comments about the Kidd firing, dismissed as ignorant ramblings here, were IMO pertinent and echo what I've been saying for a while about the real determinant of team success: building on-court chemistry, which takes a long time and is not coach-dependent.

On-court chemistry is built by maximizing talents and putting players in a position to succeed. The Bucks under Kidd surrendered woeful defensive percentages at the rim, from the 3-point line and relied on a iso-heavy offense largely dependent on the ballhandler creating something without the benefit of movement and passing. He decided Khris Middleton was equipped to guard 4s. He's treated Dlelly as a primary ballhandler. He's destroyed whatever potential Rashad had. He's neglected to sub in players based on where they were positioned on the bench in proximity to him.

Doesn't seem helpful to chemistry, but then I don't rock skinny jeans on national TV and think I'm Rick Mahorn because I once stepped to Anthony Peeler.

How do you explain the Boston Celtics, who had as much turnover as any team in the last 12 months, and their success this year?

I think "Fired" is too strong of a word for Grgurich. I think he probably asked if he could leave the team as he was loosely involved when Kidd was there and is pretty old anyways. More of a mutually parting and technically the Bucks released him from his commitment.
Pure speculation.

This might explain the reasoning for their caution in announcing Prunty as interim for the rest of the season. They needed to get confirmation from Lasry and Dinan that they were on board with that, and it is possible that they hadn't by the time the pregame presser took place.

Middleton referred to Kidd as the head of the snake.....no way that can be spun as a positive.

sometimes there is room for psycho babble but in this case youre forgetting all the damn games weve watched. don't let this surprise you but the schemes we run suck on both ends and the whole basketball world knows it. the ONLY way to have a successful team with the schemes we have is to have a HOF initiator freewheeling and directing traffic on offense and a bunch of savvy vets talking and adapting on defense. but even then... its not championship basketball the way its being played these days.

kidd coached this team with the kind of sht he said in timeouts all during his career after the real coach got done talking. that's not real coaching.

I want to say something. Kudos to Jon for firing Kidd. If I had him before me, I would apologize for calling him a puppet. He probably had/has no final word, but his opinion matters.
I anticipate to judge his next moves without Kidd's shadow over him. The biggest one being apparently the team's next coach.
No hay banda.

You fire a guy mid-afternoon on gameday, with 3 days rest following that's a chemistry issue if I have ever seen one anyway.

Let's hope that Midds gets back to his old ways now that Kidd is gone. Maybe he just couldn't motivate to play for such an incompetent coach and slacked off.

It's ok. Khris would talk to him when they crossed paths with each other.

If the Bucks aren't going to be entertaining on the court, might as well be entertaining off of it. We really need an NBA version of Hard Knocks.

With this small group of hands on owners, and the governorship effectively being "first among equals"; I can imagine there's a lot of decision by committee - one person at a time process. Kinda clunky.
