Michael Porter Jr is starting to take meaningful minutes.
From Juancho Hernangomez.
It's a shame, Juancho needs to be a Buck.

How far we've come. I don't disagree with you but I think they're running a rebuild + 8th seed Hammy special.

Not Again!?!? Pack sure seem to be poor at player utilzation & development - especially in the defensive 2ndary

We've seen former 3rd round pick Hyde who was never given one spot to develop in - as coaches kept moving him around. Pack makes no effort to resign and another TEAM sign him as SS and he makes ProBowl. Though Hayward a 2nd rd pick had looked very talented when he was on the field but he missed lots of PT fighting injury issues . Pack allows him to walk and he goes to Chargers and the Pro-Bowl.

Last season we had the geat fortune of finding CB Breeland available during the season and we signed him. He was aggressive and by far our best tackler among DBs. In coverage he played as good an any CB we had. Still the Pack chose to ignore him and let him leave. This season Breeland's play is stellar as Chief's CB.
I am so sick of former Packer draft choices being successful on another teams roster. We even traded up to take Hayward, King when several Pass Rushers who are showing their talent and being effective were available. Year after year after...

Having a quick look in 2020 FA it seems weak even in role players that Bucks could be interested. I have these players in my list.

MLE
Jae Crowder
Meyers Leonard
Davis Bertans

BAE
Malik Beasley
Juancho Hernangomez

Do you have any?

Note: What I think will happen though is keeping Ersan and RoLo opting in. The exceptions could be used to keep Wes and Pat too, if their market gets higher.

As far as I'm concerned the MLE is reserved for Millsap.

I guess he has an agreement with Denver. Can't think another reason for them to guarantee his 30 mil. Maybe I'm wrong.

What do guys here think about Danilo Gallinari? he's the good shooter that I'm interested to get, and he has the size too.

Not like they had anyone to replace that salary slot with. But yeah, could be possible.

Like him as a player but don't think he's worth it considering what we had to give up to march salaries.

So what do we think it'd take to get Bertans?

He's an UFA. Will another contender ultimately trade a first round pick for him, or nah?

Wizards might wait it out if that's really what they want. But they're the Wizards so they might want some magic beans to win now for all we know.

DJ Wilson + Sterling Brown for Bertans works cap wise. What picks we'd include is the rub.

If the Bucks aren't bringing DJ or Brown back maybe it's worth it. We lose some defensive toughness but Bertans replaces DJ's minutes (and eats into Ersan's) while Donte and Pat can pick up the slack for Brown.

I'm very not sure if I trade the Pacers pick though. If we weren't dealing 2 contributors already integrated into our system I might feel differently about taking the risk that Bertans either brings a championship or resigns (after helping show Giannis how serious we are).

Or is he good enough where it's worth pulling the trigger and worrying about the draft assets later after Giannis extends?

Bertans and a protected 2nd for Ilyasova and the Indy pick.

If that’s all it takes that’s a no brainer. Probably not enough.

Again, superstar or nothing. Don’t tinker by moving around ancillary pieces when the chemistry is working this well.

Bucks can't trade for Gallo. Salaries won't work. He is the guy I would offer the full MLE in summer. I'm sure he can easily get a 15ish-20ish deal, but not many teams will be giving him a second year with the 2021 FA coming forward. Being 32 maybe he would consider a 4y/40mil deal in a team that can give him his first ring.

What superstar/s are you thinking?

I get wanting to do nothing (or close to nothing).

That said, if risking chemistry is the issue, it'd be way more disruptive to trade Middleton or Bledsoe or whoever else we'd need to deal to get more of a clear cut superstar.

For instance I'm not sure I trade Bledsoe as part of a package for Jrue Holiday -- at least unless our front office is seriously spooked about how he'll perform come playoff time.

Excited for the time when disgruntled stars are demanding trades to Milwaukee to get out of their **** situations. Looking at you, Trae Young.

I’m not sure why people think Jrue Holiday would be a significant upgrade

Nah, no way. A mid to late first plus one of our most important playoff players for a guy who is a liability on defense?

I get the attraction but thats not getting us closer to a championship.

Bertrans is obviously flame thrower and would add something to the team but I'm surprised at how many people want another shooting PF after the Mirotic playoff experience last season.
