Boston is 1 game under .500, the Knicks are 2, the Bulls are 2, and Orlando is 6. There is no way all of Brown, Randle, Lavine, and Vuc deserve it over a guy who's 21, 6, and 6, on 50/40/90.

I'd like to add, pretty blatant media market bias, with, "See? Playoff team." We've also thrown it back to Jamaal Magloire 2004 and thrown in Vuc on account of positional technicality. If you're taking a big, you take Sabonis without thinking twice.

Boston's schedule basically includes all our tough opponents plus the Clippers and Sixers twice. People act like we're 26-6.
The book is out on Middleton. Those playoff chokes stick to him too. A small sample due to Covid was his best chance to ever make an All-Star roster again. Ain't nobody impressed with 20 PPG in this modern league from a guy who's supposed to be a scorer

Prez wrote:Not saying I wouldn’t do it, but 3yr/102mil for KP after this season doesn’t sound great to me. I’m not sure he’s worth that money when healthy, let alone with all the injury concerns and strong likelihood that he won’t be available when it matters.
There's certainly risk involved, but that's also how you win as a small market club. I wanted to trade for Holiday years ago when his health issues were a serious concern. It's important to realize that these concerns are the reason they're available with a lower price tag.
If we had reasonable matching slots, I'd take the gamble without thinking much about it given that I think it could be one of the most dominant rim protecting duos in the league moving forward. But we don't.
All things considered, I'd much rather have Porzingis locked up to the money he is moving forward than Jrue Holiday in a big fat deal going into his age 31 season unless we win the whole damn thing. I think it could potentially be a very interesting S&T possibility in the offseason.

Sign Boogie
Holiday - DJA - Merrill
DDV - Forbes - Pat
Middleton - Nwaba - Nwora - Elleby
Giannis - Covington - Thanasis
Portis - Cousins - (2)Diakite
Dealing with people who exhibit the "smartest person in the room" syndrome can be a challenge. One approach is to listen their opinion while also encouraging open-mindedness. It's important to create an environment where all voices are valued.

I think we all can mostly agree that we need to ship out Lopez and Wilson in a trade.
Freeing up some cap space is where my head is at.
Bucks: Tucker
Hou: Wilson and Ntilinka
Knicks: Lopez

From this great article by Sports Illustrated about NBA players who can't dunk. https://www.si.com/nba/2021/02/22/nba-non-dunkers-patty-mills-tj-mcconnell-steve-novak-daily-cover
During the peak of Linsanity, the NBA wanted to capitalize by having one of Lin's teammates in the contest so that Lin could be incorporated into the show. Initially Landry Fields was supposed to jump over Lin on a futon, but had to drop out because of an injury. JR Smith was next in line, but he subsequently dropped out as well because of an inured ankle. The NBA then desperately asked Novak, who of course had never dunked, to participate. He declined the offer.
What might be even crazier about Novak is that he only attempted 16 layups in his NBA career, and 78% of his field goal attempts were 3's

So can voodoo or some other insiders confirm Jrue is signing the extension Friday or soon after?

Sorry, but this doesn't free up cap space, because we'll still be well over the cap. It cuts salary, but that doesn't help us with anything. An exception or the minimum is the only way we can sign anyone going forward, plus if we trade for expirings, we have no salary slots to trade.

That would make us worse this season, so no.

Is Craig's contract not guaranteed? If so, he might be released before the guarantee deadline that's approaching.

According to Spotrac, it's all guaranteed. https://www.spotrac.com/nba/milwaukee-bucks/torrey-craig-24230/

Yeah even though Covington is terrible, Portland needs to save face with any deal involving him because they so grossly overpaid to get him.

Covington's fallen off a cliff statistically, but I think he's still a useful player. Last game I saw him, he was actually playing center defensively a lot, so maybe part of his problem is how he's being used. He's still a talented defender who gets tons of deflections, and he'll hit the open 3's.

Watching for this too.
Losing Holiday for nothing would be a cataclysmic disaster.
Overpaying him isn't great but you'd hope an extension had to have been the plan (with a tacit agreement in place already from Jrue's agent) after mortgaging our future to get him.
Then again, we did that deal without Giannis' extension being in place, and it was so haphazard that it blew up the Bogdan trade in the process. So who knows.

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions - No Politics
Frank mentioned something on the most recent LOB that I also brought up last week, that the team is still taking a hard road towards figuring out its defensive identity. Our starting lineup has a guy who's only good in the drop-zone, and a guy that's openly rebelled against it. We added a switching scheme and then assembled a less switchable roster. Jrue being out just exacerbates the issues, but it's a hell of a puzzle for Bud to figure out in the best of circumstances.
