Bobby has to be shopped, we need to upgrade our perimeter defense bad. As currently constructed, our ceiling is way too low for our tax bill.

Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas
We wanna add another midget, offense-only guard to the rotation? Lol, what is going on here? Would still love Donte back but now that he has to compensate for Quickley's absent minutes (and Hart can't be traded), I think the Knicks are no longer a good trade partner. The Nets, however, are in free-fall right now, and one of the following deals would be my absolute top priority:
Bobby + Marjon for DFS
Bobby + Pat + stuff for DFS + Royce O'Neal
Bobby + Marjon for DFS
Bobby + Pat + stuff for DFS + Royce O'Neal

Fire back up the Sexton rumor mill and **** Boston over at the same time. Idk how to make the salaries work per se but Bobby Pat and Marjon for Sexton Kelly O and Dunn gotta be a close salary match?
No, no it is not.
How far off?

Dealing with people who exhibit the "smartest person in the room" syndrome can be a challenge. One approach is to listen their opinion while also encouraging open-mindedness. It's important to create an environment where all voices are valued.

We’d have to send out an additional 5.5 million to take those guys back.

Sexton/Dame would be just awful on defense.

Can’t Horst just go into the settings and turn off salary cap mode?

Every move we make should be centered around playing the Celtics in the ECF. In that scenario Brook has got to go but I don't think ownership has the balls to do it.

This would be high risk on the chemistry front and losing Bobby, who is a premier minutes eating big in the regular season. And we don’t necessarily address the point of attack guard issue.
Are there any pure guards outside of Caruso we can pursue?

Had to bring back a classic.

Middleton for Smart+Adams. Adams is out for season and Memphis may need SF more then Smart (they have Ja and Bane).
We trade Middleton while he looks healthy and get guard defender. I think we have small window here because its just a metter of time before Midds is injured again.

Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas
If we’re concerned about trading players because of on-court chemistry, like what we have with Khris and Giannis, sure, but if we’re talking about chemistry as locker room vibes, I don’t give a **** anymore.
We’ve seen plenty of good vibes chemistry guys come and go and our chemistry has still been there - hill, Donte, wes, etc. Honestly, the vibes were probably best on those 2019 and 2020 teams before Bobby ever came here.
I think the fear is overblown:
1. How many teams actually have bad chemistry?
2. How many teams have bad chemistry when their star player isn’t a malcontent?
Giannis is a hardworking goofball that allows role players to do their thing, and Khris is the parent of the team - he talks on D, and he’s always seen talking or laughing with other players on the bench. With those two, we should be fine so long as we don’t actively bring in a dude who’s been known to kill locker rooms.

I think Brook is a better trade piece next season but I wouldn’t mind a shopping him either.

Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas
I'm just so over the Brook/Bobby pair right now, particularly looking ahead to the playoffs.
We all know Brook's limitations. He's a 35 year old plodder who get's destroyed when taken away from the basket. For the first time this season personally I'm seeing him lose an extra step that scares me into the "unplayable" category. He's still a smart and capable defender at the rim but I feel like that lost step is causing a lot of problems on second chance opportunities, whether it be contesting a second shot or getting a body on somebody to get the rebound. I don't think the lost step is helping him offensively either, where I feel like he kinda looks like a lost afterthought on that side off the ball and if he's not draining threes what is he actually providing.
I was once on the Bobby replace Brook bandwagon, after 4 years I'm pretty over what Bobby brings to the table. In talks of replacing Brook, I don't even think Bobby is a center. We can twist it any way you want, Bobby is a horrible defender. He got points with some for simply not being Brook Lopez but I don't think there's really a single redeeming quality of Bobby defending. I think if Bobby's on the court with Giannis he's basically just not playing center and if Giannis is willing and able to play center you're better off going smaller and more skilled. I think offensively he's fine and when intertwined in the offense he's at his best but the talks that he's some guy we need for when we need a bucket is crazy to me. Like Bobby's 1 on 1 game is some big version of your typical Jamal Crawford inefficient 6th man that is worthless in the playoffs to me.
Also just almost everything I think here is exacerbated by our backcourt, which just adds more weak spots to the armor (defensively).

Gabriel and TyTy playing well. Wigginton no longer a part of the Herd rotation it seems.

Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas
Playing around with a Brook/Grant/Klay framework. Could be as simple as we get Grant, GSW gets Brook and PDX gets Klay + GSW 1st. Or could be expanded:
MKE: Jerami Grant, Gary Payton II
GSW: Brook Lopez, Malcolm Brogdon, Pat Connaughton, Robin Lopez
PDX: Klay Thompson, Jonathan Kuminga, GSW '27 1st (lottery protected), PDX '24 2nd
MKE: Jerami Grant, Gary Payton II
GSW: Brook Lopez, Malcolm Brogdon, Pat Connaughton, Robin Lopez
PDX: Klay Thompson, Jonathan Kuminga, GSW '27 1st (lottery protected), PDX '24 2nd

Yeah, the perimeter defense should absolutely get roasted, and it’s what’s been mostly talked about here, but some of our ineffectiveness within the drop is just how damn low brook has to play.
A center with better feet who can play higher and recover more quickly would eliminate some of the 20 foot processing lanes for guards going to the hoop.
