If it year 3 of us crapping the bed in the playoffs with only 2 rounds of gate revenue, do you pay the repeater tax again for a bunch of old stars who couldn't win with 2 champion coaches or do you trade Giannis for 100 picks, get nickels on the dollar for Dame, shed brook and start over while saving NINE figures? Honestly I probably do the later

You're both wrong.

You run the situation in MIlwaukee with Giannis to its conclusion. Spend all you can. Grab a title or two. And when it's over, you exercise your option to buy out Edens and move the team to Nashville in 2030.

Two Tennessee teams?

Then we can be a future metropolis that the league holds current NBA cities hostage with for their new arenas to get built with public funds, lest the Nashville Buckeroos scamper back to Brew City

The lede to this story is hilarious. Horsty took Old Griff out back like Old Yeller.

PS: "Peers around the league saw the bubbling chaos and started calling Griffin to offer advice and support. Among them were former Memphis Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins and ESPN analyst and former Philadelphia 76ers coach, Doc Rivers, both of whom had a long personal history with Griffin and share the same coaching agent...Rivers had several conversations with Griffin over the past few months and became something of an informal mentor to him."

Like a fox. Rivers is truly devious.

According to multiple sources, Antetokounmpo grabbed a marker and began diagramming plays to Bucks assistant coach Josh Oppenheimer, growing more animated and intense as he mapped out the team's spacing and actions, revealing in real time what he felt went wrong and where they needed to be on the floor. He eventually grabbed his brother Thanasis and forward Bobby Portis to join him.

I just imagine a 3-headed version of A Beautiful Mind there.

If Thanasis was involved, God love him, we may have to workshop the title. Two Heads is Better Than None

I think we should have continued with a stop gap solution for this year like Stotts (if possible) and try to get Kerr in the of season.

Now we are stuck with Rivers and for sure it will be for next year at least. I don't think he is terrible just that the times have passed him.

Bud at the end, without being perfect was the bright exception in the list of Drew,Kidd,Griffin,Rivers.

I think it all started when we botched the GM hire

Doc and Griff being represented by the same agency is hilarious. They get to double dip on commissions for the bucks job.

Probably. But we have to at least see what he's able to do with the Roster.

Giannis drawing up plays on a wall sized white board is both a hilarious summation of the Grief Era and further convinces me that all the good things we’d seen on offense (offball cuts to the rim, Brook rim running to park in the lane for boards, Beas parked in the corner, double horn logo screens for Dame) were the players sorting out the offense themselves.

I don't get the idea that "this wasn't what Arian Griffin signed up for" and that the expectation wasn't Finals or bust from the start. They were the #1 seed last season. They've got a top three player in the world. Three all-stars and a DPOY candidate. Of course the expectations were the highest you could get.

Shams claims a "massive" contract for Doc. Ownership definitely all-in on him

Bud raised the bar of the whole organization it went beyond just him getting us a ring or falling short the last 2 years, now we're looking bush league team with GM coach killer Giannis like the Lakers with Lebron or KD on the Nets, its a huge step back. We're back in the days JKidd now, think we're going to miss Bud more and more. Not his fault Middleton got hurt against Boston or Giannis against Miami.

I think basketball is more about managing egos and inspiring and less about x's and o's

So do you trust Doc if he couldn't get Griffin to be better starting in early December?

I'm at peace with Doc. These guys are **** clutch, 30-13 with a open-door defensive policy, I don't see any version of them wilting under pressure, they don't lack the mental makeup. They may need another guy to hedge against Ajax/MB/JC/PC mediocrity but still this is a SQUAD.

Yes Giannis looks a little foolish for some level of AG endorsement, but the possibility of getting Doc to his 2nd championship exceeds any narrative possibility with AG. Lose and it was an f'd season from the start, some of the blame will go to Doc, who also will undoubtedly throw some guys under. Win though and Giannis hits his top 20 all-time potential, Flop-stars Embid, Harden, Paul, Griffin will all have their choker status confirmed, and Doc gets to go out as a winner.

What I get from this is that around year 2029 Horst will announce player-coach Giannis and his staff of Thanasis, Kostas and Alex

Portis grabbed the marker and started furiously annotating Giannis' work. "See- Bobby gets the ball here and that's a shot", he enthused "but we got options... if Bobby moves and gets the ball over here, that's a shot too!". Portis continued to excitedly mark up additional positions, including some off the whiteboard, where he could get the ball and get a shot.

Giannis pulled a tortured face, and implored Oppenheimer to see what the players could see- the beauty the Bucks could be. Thanasis continued grooming his younger brother.
