Kuzma is both an analytic and eye test disaster. It's hard to fathom why he was a target. There had to be a better deal if the purpose was to duck the apron (Pat and AJJ based deal?). Khris in a wheelchair would be more of a contributer than Kuz

Maybe Giannis like Kuzma because his game is so reminiscent of Thanasis

Oof

I dunno man Dallas would probably do Klay Thompson. But somehow Klay is even worse.

Klay is a shadow of his former self, but still significantly better than Kuzma. Kuzma is the most harmful full time player in the NBA, by multiple statistical measures.

IQ is 6.7 VORP for his career at age 25. KPJ is just 1 VORP for his career, and has earned half of that as a Buck.

KPJ has the talent to dominate, but he needs to do it, and then do it consistently. I hope he does.

I dont know how much i care about vorp, but youre right that their histories are very different. In fact, Kpj has been horrid defensively up until this season. This stretch with the Bucks is a major outlier in many dimensions. I guess i wasnt aware of that. Ive been so enamored with his play that i just never would have guessed....

Anyway, i dont know if any gm looks at his body of work and wants to gamble big, but i do think his history would almost completely go out the window if he plays like that consistently in the playoffs.

There isn’t any doubt that Kuzma has been straight up awful this year. Both for us and the Wiz.

Khris in a wheelchair would be a negative on offense and defense. At least Kuz is a decent defender, not that the trade looks good or anything.

Now that the year is almost over it's good to look back on the HUGE competitive advantage it was to have Livingston on the roster the entire year over Thanasis. Think about all those missed opportunities we wasted over the years.

Kuzma is not being helped by starting out of position. I think he would be fine as a backup hybrid 3/4 to cut to the rim (out of the dunker), play some good defense and do dirty work. And only really take open shots or in transition. It's literally baffling how Doc is continually sticking with this idiotic rotation.

Part of what makes Kuzma awful is he pictures himself as a scorer. There's no hiding him in a role.

Bucks need to start imposing some tariffs for these god damn trade deficits the last couple of years. Kuzma Jesus Christ.

the minute kuzma steps foot on the court, its a complete net negative. Midds whether he plays or not is not as bad as kuzma suiting up and crapping his pants on the court.

Kuzma needs Brook gone, he should never be in the 3 spot. The Bucks play way too big, maybe Doc is a genius and it will work in the playoffs but I don't see it. Kuz can be our Aaron Gordon and he'll do great in that role I think.

With the emergence of KPJ and Bobby returning we can relax on Kuz. So long as his usage isn’t high we’ll be fine. Yes he’s highly overpaid but as long as he doesn’t overstep his bounds on this team it won’t be a problem

I’ve definitely thought there was no reason to play Brook 30+ mins per game like Doc has been doing but then again Brook probably had the most efficient month of his career in March with those big minutes.

Horst - "Hey Giannis, we're looking at making a trade. Any thoughts?"
Giannis - "As long as it isn't Harden or CP3, I'm cool."
Media - "Giannis supported trade for Kuzma."

Mke in: Kristaps
Mke out: Kuzma, Livingston, ‘31 swap

Bos in: Stewart
Bos out: Kristaps

Det in: Kuzma, Livingston, ‘31 swap
Det out: Stewart

Reasons?
We get a brook upgrade and a player talented enough to be in our top 3 but often injured.

Boston sheds around 16m in salary, and gets a player they were rumored to have interest in.

Detroit gets a future asset for a player who isn’t their future starter with Duren’s emergence, and one who isn’t even playing 20 minutes per game for them this year.

The team is better off with Kuz on the bench, it's the objective truth. His on/off numbers are astounding.

EDIT: He's a -16.4 diff at the moment.

I have been very hard on him. He's not good. It is what it is. I am pulling for him, but players don't magically gain basketball IQ.

I don't think getting a younger but much less reliable/durable version of Brook is what we should be spending our remaining assets on. Just re-sign Brook on another 1-2 year deal and spend that first/swap elsewhere.
