I mean, are you really surprised? This **** isn't Seinfeld, lol.

That had to have been one of the worst GoT episodes.

I found it pretty boring (sans the final scene). They gave away a big piece of action at the beginning of episode 1. This one felt like they were setting up the action for episode 3.

By far the worst? Maybe. We agree it was really bad.

I liked it fine. Didn't think it was especially good or anything, but just an average solid episode. Seems like some people need nonstop action or some huge game changing event to be satisfied I guess

The worst part was definitely the "Momma" thing with the sand snakes. My god were those characters terrible. Glad to see some of them go. I blame the acting and show writing as the characters were fine in the books.

Spoiler:
Yeah, even with the terrible writing, the path they chose to take with those characters was very bizarre. Even moreso because they set up Dorne so excellently with the Red Viper, but they decided to make all the females of Dorne crazy bitches. Not sad to see the show's version of the characters go.

Spoiler:
There are plenty of worst parts! It really feels like the show is getting dumber. It's still pretty good, it certainly has moments of greatness, but it's basically a normal TV show now with all the familiar tropes and contrivances.

How about the fact that the mysterious cure to greyscale is just **** cutting it off!

Or that NOBODY had previously acknowledged the wonkiness of translating 'the prince that was promised'?

Or that Yara is just sailing all over the place with her head up her ass knowing full well that her sailing-ass murder-mouth uncle is trying to kill her? And that nobody made a peep that a giant fleet of ships was literally crashing into them?

Or that the Big Dragon Solution is literally a big crossbow?

Best parts:

Jamie and Tarly

Tyrion going straight for Casterly Rock

Spoiler:
Yeah, those things were all disappointments.

People had been fighting wars against Dragons for (hundreds of?) years and never tried shooting one?

The Greyscale thing was ridiculous. They lock up the books that have all the interesting and dangerous information in them, but this super dangerous obscure "cure" to a highly contageous plague is totally accessible, as are all the necessary ingredients, and the patient is in no way quarantined to prevent the infection from spreading? Plus the secret cure is the first thing anyone would try?

I guess I can see being outmaneuvered on the ocean, it's not like they had radar, but they did have a crow's nest

from which you'd be able to see another ship from many miles away. Night/dusk isn't really an excuse either. If you tried to sail a huge fleet of boats without any radar or anything in total darkness to "sneak up" on an opposing fleet, you'd end up crashing a bunch of them into each other, alerting the other fleet anyway, and sinking a bunch of your own vessels.

It has gone downhill a bit since it departed from the books, but it's still a very good show on the whole. Really there's nothing to be done about it. GRRM has taken forever to write the next one, and there's just no way they were going to shut the whole show down and wait.

I thought the part when Jon Snow appealed to the Night's Watch, when he said:

"We're going to need every man, woman, and child to fight the white walkers. Not transgenders though... those tremendous medical costs."

...was an interesting turn for the character.

Spoiler:
I agree with a lot of what you're saying but I'll defend the show in a couple areas

Have we really seen the show refer to the prince that was promised prophecy outside of Melisandre referring to Stannis? She would have no reason to mention the gender neutrality of the word when she thought Stannis was the one. Could be wrong here though.

The "dragon solution" is actually from the books. I'm not a book expert, so I might have a few of the details fuzzy though. Basically,
those large crossbows (called "scorpions") were used in Dorne during the original conquest of Westeros. Except that the dragon skin was so thick and tough that only a direct shot to the eye could kill one (Drogon's skin appears to be far less tough, probably because he's still young). This was used successfully by the Dornish to kill Meraxes, one of the original 3 to attack Westeros. So it definitely isn't some novel concept, but since dragons have been gone for centuries, there probably isn't a lot of these scorpions around (if any).

Euron attacked Yara during a storm and at night, so that would certainly affect visibility. But yea, that scene seemed very rushed

3/4 of the way through Ozark and I'm still not sure if it's good or not.

Im two episodes in and I just can't buy super sarcastic and dry Jason Bateman in this role. He's essentially the same guy from Bad Words. The first episode was completely ridiculous. Second a bit better. I'll give it a few more because I like Bateman and a good chunk of wife's family is from that southern Missouri/NW Arkansas area.

I've had those people overselling it to me already like it's the best thing since sliced bread.

I'm a little farther along, and I'll say that I think there is some character development....But I kind of took it another way, that he was a broken man, and now kind of prone to lashing out, like he doesn't give a **** any more, and he isn't going to be the broken man any more.

It reminds me of some other movie but I haven't been able to put my finger on it yet.
