OKC looking to dump Horford and picks for expirings or smaller, more movable deals. I like him more than Lopez for this team.
MIL out - Lopez, DJW, DJA, Craig
MIL in - Horford
OKC out - Horford
OKC in - Gay, DJW, DJA, Craig
SAS out - Gay
SAS in - Lopez
Bucks might even get a few picks for taking on Horford and trading Lopez.

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions - No Politics
At the moment DDV/Forbes/Portis/Brook are all averaging 10+ PPG, which is extremely helpful to have around Jrue/Midds/Giannis Big3. We need an 8th guy to round up that playoff rotation. He needs to be an elite defender with size to help us with our defensive struggles and shoot his 3s to keep the good spacing around Giannis.
Augustin is underachieving, Connaughton will always perform OK as the 10th "insurance" guy, Craig and Thanasis are G leaguers, Wilson is a bust, our rookies are too raw to rely on them in the playoffs. I guess these are the players that will be used till the deadline along with whatever picks we have to get help. Nothing fancy and Horst will have to avoid the tax to free real money to pay our Big 3 moving forward and support them with good players.
The problem is that I'm not sold on Tucker, Bjelica, Temple, Ariza, Cousins type players that look like close to washed. They are all welcomed as buyout vets, but trading for them is not the solution since they won't upgrade our Top 8 rotation as much as we need. Horst needs to be creative and bring on board another Portis/Forbes type player.

It'd be tough to get the numbers to work with Horford since we'd have to deal so many players (and then fill out the roster), but we know Bud is plenty familiar with him, and i've seen others post that they think Horford is looking way more spry than BroLo these days.
Am looking around and haven't seent he report about OKC looking to dump him yet at least.
Chris Mannix thinks he has gas left in the tank fwiw:
"It's no surprise to me that Al Horford goes to Oklahoma City, which has a history of putting players like Horford in good positions, and he has turned into something more resembling the Al Horford we saw for many years in Boston," Mannix said Wednesday on NBC Sports Boston's Early Edition.

Guys like Horford and Eric Gordon are probably the kind of deals we should be looking at. Gotta think outside the box with the complete lack of tradeable assets, and I think both guys look much better in a contending situation. If you can grab a good buyout big, I still like the foundation of a BroLo/Wilson/Pat for Tucker/Gordon trade.

Yup, the trade works as far as the trade itself independent from the hardcap.
This deal adds $2 million to the Bucks, and we only have $600K and change.
It's why we need to wait until after the deadline to add a15th player.

So is Cousins cooked or just in a bad situation and would fit better with a team like us?

Literally any PG that is available at the vet min. Can't get much worse than his current level of play.

Rubio's $17m salary makes it tough, but I'd love to bring him here, and Minnesota is exactly the kind of team we could extract value from.

While I completely agree that DJA is bad, shouldn't the total focus be on improving the biggest weakness in the team?
Our starting lineup has the best net rating in the league (large usage). Lineups with the starters and Portis or Pat are also good. Things fall apart when we go to the back court reserves.
A quality 3rd guard also opens the possibilities of centerless lineups.

Reading up on Tito's kid's season.
https://oklahoman.com/article/5682950/hes-just-a-flat-out-winner-al-horford-has-embraced-his-role-for-the-rebuilding-thunder
But Horford, who would surely prefer playing for a contender, has publicly embraced his veteran role on a rebuilding team that’s sixth-youngest in the NBA. Wednesday night against the Spurs, Horford is likely to start alongside Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (22), Luguentz Dort (21), Darius Bazley (20) and Theo Maledon (19). Maledon was 5 years old when Horford won his second NCAA title at Florida.
Horford is sharing his NBA wisdom with an inexperienced Thunder team, but it’s a two-way street. This latest version of Thunder U is keeping Horford young.
“We have a great group of guys,” Horford said. “It’s something that has really impressed me since I’ve gotten here, just the willingness of our group to work, to focus, to try to be better. It makes it easier for me. It motivates me to be there for them and try to help them in any way that I can.”
Horford’s role is far from ceremonial. He’s averaging 14.5 points per game — the most since his last season in Atlanta — with 6.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists. He’s second on the Thunder in player efficiency rating behind Gilgeous-Alexander, and Horford’s game is still evolving.
Aside from anchoring the Thunder’s defense, the five-time All-Star is attempting a career-high 5.6 3-pointers per game, and he’s shooting 38% from behind the arc.
Horford attempted 65 3-pointers in his first eight NBA seasons combined (496 games). He’s attempted 118 3-pointers in 21 games with the Thunder.
“I think it’s just the way that we’re playing,” Horford said. “I’m put in positions that I have to take some of those shots, and I feel fine doing it. But I just believe it’s the way that the offense is and where I’m at on the floor.”
Dort is the only Thunder attempting more 3-pointers per game than Horford.
“To be honest with you, I really don’t micromanage him offensively at all,” said Thunder coach Mark Daigneault, who’s a year older than Horford. “He’s better if you give him the space to make those decisions on his own as to whether to shoot, transfer it, drive. His intentions are so pure and so team-oriented that I really don’t lean on him a ton there.”
Horford, who always rests on the second night of a back-to-back
Trading Horford’s contract will be a hurdle, but until that time comes there’s value in keeping him around.
“Philosophically he just believes in team basketball and he’s walked that walk for a long time,” Daigneault said. “It’s had such a contagious effect on our guys and we’re just a better team when he’s out there on the court. He’s just a flat-out winner.”

Think we could convince Orlando to do a DJW for Ennis or MCW? Literally just trying to trade DJW for someone who is on the verge of being cut, but is making a bit less to give us some room

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions - No Politics
I read that Noah Vonleh was waived by the Nets. Is he available ?
What we should do : explore all possible partners to dump salary somewhere. If noone wants our DJs+Brook ... just waive Wilson and stretch his contract. Not absolutely sure how much salary we save but I think it is enough to sign Vonleh and the best G-League SG (shooter with proper size) available . So filling the 15th roster spot with a mobile big is priority and actually playing our rookies should be high on our "to do list". Unfortunately....
What will Bucks do : trade for a washed player 35+ old giving up players and whatever future picks have left . I am against trading for Tucker at his age and condition. We are a super slow team , we should add athleticism amd fresh legs especially on the C and a wing.

Wilson to DET for a Ellington. Small trade that saves some money and adds another 40% 3pt shooting vet.
