Games of interest tonight:

Kings/Hawks
Mavs/Celtics
Blazers/Cavs
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Ainge's latest leak to the press:

The Utah Jazz have so far intended their plan to keep Lauri Markkanen and Jordan Clarkson out of trade talks, sources tell Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports.

While the Jazz also will maintain a high asking price for Jarred Vanderbilt, Malik Beasley, Mike Conley and Kelly Olynyk could be made available before the trade deadline.

The Jazz have interest in trading for John Collins, but a scenario where they actually acquire him is considered low. The Atlanta Hawks approached Utah on a trade of Collins for Markkanen and those talks didn't generate any traction.

Man that would have been a huge bummer for Markkanen to get traded right back into a decoy role. I would expect this to follow the typical Ainge path where they just build on what they already have gradually via making all their extra picks and look to add an amenable all-star on discount if possible (and never find one).

I have been kind of wondering on and off if there's a way for us to swing Collins. I do feel like the Hawks undervalue him. I'm not sure we can find him the role he's earned, but he sure doesn't have it there.

I really don't like Collins, but I guess it's out of pettiness and is largely vibes-based. I don't think he really fits on the Bucks, unless Bobby gets traded. Would much rather have a wing that can toggle between 3-4 or a big guard. Portland was wise to get Josh Hart in the CJ deal. One of those guys that fits in almost any conceivable situation. I feel like Pat is one of those guys as well, but Bud tends to stretch the limits of Pat's abilities with some of the smurfy lineups.

Nah, I don't think I'll take responsibility for your building a straw man here. Perhaps just read better and don't insist on my saying something I didn't.

you are great at making people lessen their opinion of you.
Now say you don't care.

Oh man, you're totally right. It was me who jumped in and insisted you said something you didn't while playing substantive hits like, "they are not the same," "see bolded," and "take fault because YOU communicated poorly."

There was nothing unreasonable about what I said, but yeah sure, OK, "My bad."

Don't sell your vibes short. Collins is a bad interior defender and at times ball-hog. He reminds me a lot of former Bucks free agent great Ken Norman. Or perhaps a poor man's Sharif Abdur Rahim. Would have zero interest in dealing for him, especially at that current contract. Don't blame the Hawks though for calling on Lauri for him.

Markkanen?
I'd love to know how many GMs simply hung up on the Hawks when they made their Collins pitches.

Just saw the Booker/Ayton/Beverly video.

That's why I wanted a guy like Pat Bev. When these MFs flagrant foul Giannis he would at least do something.

Man I wanted Markannen and Bol Bol when everyone counted them out.

Nice to see they're both playing well but would've been better if it was in Milwaukee.

That said, I like Mike Brown. Maybe he can turn this ship.

I'll take that bet PP - I think they're morals to finish above .500. What stakes are we playing? :D

I hate to have to cheer against them, and won’t, so hope I lose this. But how about loser has to make their avatar be a photo of Vivek for one week at the end of the regular season? They need to win 42 games for your payout. Anything less, and I win. Sound good? 8-)

Lock it in.

People can say Pat Bev is in idiot all they want. If he was on the Bucks roster, there' is a 100% chance that guys would think twice about taking cheap shots and flagrants on Giannis.

Bobby does his part with this, but Pat Bev would gladly take a 3 game suspension to protect Giannis. On the flip side and to be fair, Bobby is more important to us if than Pat Bev would be if he was on our roster. I'd love Pat Bev at the end of our bench though.

Nets with their big 3 couldn't beat the Sixers who were without their big 3 last night. Fire Nash!!!!

Which is another reason I am all for acquiring Crowder if the price is low.

For more recent Bucks fans, would Drew Golden be a good comparison to Collins in your estimation?

To be honest, I think the threat of revenge in basketball over rated. If you're winning it could kill momentum, and when losing just makes you look like a chump. Like I'm happy for guys to fly the flag, but can't say that I'm disappointed we don't go in on getting even.

I think a Pat Bev style 'protect Giannis' foul makes absolutely no difference on people fouling him hard/illegally when he goes to the hoop. You can't soft foul Giannis, he goes through you.

The Celtics are really good and are only going to get better when they get Williams back. I think Tatum had his superstar fail moment and has made the next step. I hope we get a healthy series against them just as a basketball fan.

I guess with the punishment Giannis doles out on a nightly basis, I don't blame guys for wanting to hit back, it's the unnecessary **** that's my issue. We'd be bitching to no end if a player like Giannis was running through us four games a season and potentially in the playoffs, but we don't because he's ours. I don't have much problem with the Grant/Winslow play as Winslow was trying to catch Giannis even if it was in an awkward fashion (you could even see Winslow tell Giannis "I was trying to catch you" when he got up).

The bush league stop, load up, and drive into the opposite direction like Embiid though? **** that.
