Now we are stuck with Rivers and for sure it will be for next year at least. I don't think he is terrible just that the times have passed him.

Bud at the end, without being perfect was the bright exception in the list of Drew,Kidd,Griffin,Rivers.

I think it all started when we botched the GM hire

How the fu.. did we botch the GM hire horst has done a fantastik job stll amazing how much much disrespect he gets

Unless you think Horst had nothing to do with hiring Griffin IDK how you can say he's done a fantastic job, trading for Dame and subsequently getting Giannis to sign the extension is the only thing saving him from the unemployment line and personally I'd still consider firing/demoting him for a real basketball person instead.

If I was a fan of the Sixers or Celtics I would be pretty nervous about the Bucks getting Doc Rivers.

My mindset would be that a guy who has been really good at getting 3-1 and 3-2 leads in playoff series has Giannis & Dame as his closers now. As opposed to having guys like James Harden and Ben Simmons as his closers like in the past.

It might not work out, but I would be nervous.

I could care less that Boston dolts are celebrating us hiring Doc when they have Joe **** Mazzulla as their coach. Cuz you know, stones and glass houses and all...

Ron Swanson wrote:Good point that our clutch stats and record is probably the perfect antidote for Doc's biggest playoff flaw. He certainly deserves blame for being part of those up 3-1 or 3-2 collapses, but just look at Harden and Embiid last year in the last two games vs. Boston:

Harden:

13/9/7 on 36% TS and 5 turnovers
9/7/6 on 38% TS and 5 turnovers

Embiid:

26/10/1 on 57% TS with 4 turnovers
15/8/1 on 36% TS with 4 turnovers

Brutal

I still can't believe that Embiid & Harden combined for 24 points, on a combined 8-29 (27%) from the field in game 7 vs Boston last season. That was one of the more bizarre things I have ever seen, you'd think that with two MVP level players, at least one of them would have maybe, sort of had a decent game in a game 7.

I won't even get into Ben Simmons' game 7 in 2021.

I am not saying everyone has to love the Doc Rivers hire, but you have to least throw a grain of salt in there with Doc's close-out record.

The funny thing is that we have played the easiest and have the hardest remaining schedule. I can't wait to hear all the ''they had greater record under Griffin"

The record never reflected Griffin, and it may or may not reflect Doc. We'll know 30 days from now if things look better on the court.

I hope Doc is smart enough to stagger Giannis and Dame so that we're not rolling out bench units that get decimated.

Then whoever is on fire. Keep them in on the arc to close with the Dame and Giannis ... all the role players not in the top 75 ever should have to earn the right to close games by hitting shots and playing D the 1st 20 min they are in

I do kind of like the idea, but I also don't give two **** about who starts. Matters way more what your line up looks like in crunch time, everything else is fairly irrelevant to me. If this helps to better stagger the minutes of Giannis, Midds, Dame, Lopez, Portis, etc., then it is fine with me.

This is what we need.. accountability and rewarding excellence instead of handholding and enabling.

Boston fan here. Sadly, you're not wrong about this.

I think Spo coaches circles around both of them.

Horst has done some incredible moves in his tenure with the Bucks. He even brought us a title. I don't even want to rattle off the things he's done well but it's a great list. Including helping us win a title and all. Amazing anyone could think he was a botched hire.

This is a no one situation for Sixers and Celtics fans now whether or not they want to admit it. If they beat the Bucks in the playoffs, it’s because they should have beaten their horrible former coach. If they lose, what does it say about Embiid or Brown?
