I still haven’t given up on Kuminga as an elite prospect so I’d be down for the right price.

100% down for taking a swing on Kuminga and I don't even like Kuminga that much anymore. All the more reason to do it if Kuzma is the salary needed.

Anyone have any idea how a Kuminga sign and trade works? Seems almost impossible

I’m sure we called to ask about Kuminga given that’s the type of gamble we should be taking in a position of need; however, based on what’s coming out, we don’t have the assets to get him. If an S&T was possible with Kuzma and not our 1sts, im sure we’d do that

Play Kuzma as a backup 4 and see if you can rehab his value a bit- or even get a useful backup out of him- you need to play 8-10 guys anyways.

KPJ/Rollins
Trent
Green/Prince
Giannis/Kuzma
Turner/Bobby

That lineup was good with Bobby and Turner is a better two way version of Bobby.

Give KPJ a real shot to emerge.

Play Trent, Green, Rollins more and Prince/Kuz less, especially together or out of position.

Sims, Harris, Ajax, Smith, Sears will all have opportunities to fill in.

Just play the right dudes in the right positions to succeed and we’re pretty fun as is while being patient for the right upgrade to emerge.

Kuz salary plus 31 is our all in move but it doesn’t have to happen today. See how that unit looks together with extended time and make Kuzma look like an NBA player and make the move when the right one is there.

This is perfect with a real coach. Well done.

Waves of shooters. I don't particularly care how big the guys we play on the wing are as long as they can shoot the hell out of the ball and mostly keep their man in front of them. The more of them there are, the more physical they can play. If Beal buys into being a part of that, great, sign him up. He's certainly capable.

I just don’t know if going so small at the 3 would be sustainable.

Doc could decide to start Kuzma or Prince again for his own reasons too.

I'd know Kuminga is younger and more athletic but if you are going after restricted FAs, why not go after Grimes. At least Grimes can shoot and defend. Last year his playmaking ability looked pretty good in Philly. Grimes is a shorter body type than I would like but at 6'5 he would add to the group of similar sized switchable guard/wings similar to how Indy played last year.

I’d love to see a perfect fitting long boi sf added as much as anyone but given our limited assets I’d be pretty damn excited to see an unleashed Giannis with no player he has to ever defer to like Dame and surrounded by shooters.

Giannis abusing the rim and paint and making teams decide on trying to stop that or leave KPJ-Trent-Green-Turner wide open. I wanna see teams stop pissed off me against the world Giannis when surrounded by shooters.

Please just play 3 guards Doc, Kuz starting at the 3 kills the excitement for me

OKC and Indy did it all year.

If you look at the listed combine heights of the Bucks guards/wings they are comparable to both teams. I think the tallest player would be Jalen Williams by only an inch. Most of the guards were listed at 6'4 or 6'4.5 w/o shoes. The weights are similar too.

Having said that, I recognize there is a difference in being big and playing big. Caruso plays bigger than his 6'4ish 200lbs frame and lu Dort was measured at 6'2"+ but is able to use his 220+ lbs to his advantage.

Scrolling through cap sheets for Kuzma deals

RJ Barrett- Gives TOR 9 million in cap space next year that's needed after the Poetl deal. They only have 13 million and could have a top 5 draft pick.

Derozan- SAC doesn't need cap savings. Basically if they prefer a PF and clear up the wing rotation.

Wiggins- similar to Derozan although does give the Heat 10 million in cap space next year. Would think we would need to send more incentives.

Klay- this would be using Dallas as the third team taking on Kuzma since Nico was interested in Kuzma prior. Could send Klay to all 3 teams listed above as additional savings next year of 3 million.

Hoping the new CBA structure can lead to a team willing to dump us an overpaid asset for Kuz's deal without having to attach our 2031 1st. Could see a salary dump possibility for RJ Barrett or Malik Monk. I think the Heat will hold Wiggins for some assets. Preference for a true small forward with some size, but Monk would be a great fit as a 6th man/ occasional end of game closer.

Monk is a similar contract to but Monk runs a year longer.

I might be down for getting in as the third team with GSW and the Kings. Bring us Devin Carter, Keon Ellis, and Keegan

Don't know how we could get the 3 of them with assets we have but that would be a really good return

We have options for going big, but if the ideal option isn't available, you work with what you've got and prioritize. And unquestionably I'll take the 6-4 guy with higher skill level over the 6-8 guy without, especially in any Giannis lineups, which should be 85-90% of playoff minutes.

Would love to trade for Hauser (no longer easily doable) or pick up a bought out Midds (fingers crossed), but I don't think it's ok to put Kuzma out there with Giannis (he's not close to being a good enough shooter) and Prince is basically an undersized standstill stretch 4 who can't rebound.

Has it been confirmed if we’ve used the TPMLE on any of our spending so far? We can’t do a S&T with a RFA if we have correct, Isn’t that part of the restrictions? I’m wondering if that applies to our interest in Kuminga and how that could even possibly work?

Would a legal trade be if Kuminga signed an extension matching whatever the salary slot is needed for a trade attached with Moody’s 11m for Kuzma, AJ Green and the 2031 1st? If Kuminga signs like a 3/40 extension, him and Moody would be right around Kuzma and Greens salary together. But again I have no idea if that’s legal or not?

KPJ/Rollins
Trent/Moody/Harris
Kuminga/Prince
Giannis/Bobby/Smith
Myles/Sims

There's a lack of elite big wings these days, like in the past 4-5 years you've had to worry about LeBron, KD, Kawhi, Luka, Tatum, Butler, etc and having bodies to defend guys like that but there just aren’t as many of those guys on that level anymore. LeBron/KD are aging, Kawhi is aging and injured, Butler also aging, Tatum blew out his achilles, and Luka's chubby.

It would have been a bigger problem like 4-5 years ago. But now I think the firepower of 3 guards with offensive skill next to Giannis more than makes up for it.

I really do think KPJ/Green/GTJ/Giannis/Turner is going to be a sick lineup, barring KPJ just falling off a cliff. But I'm weirdly optimistic that he's one of those late bloomer guys who just took some time to figure it out and find the right team for him.

on the Gary Harris topic. Shams listed him as a forward when he posted the Bucks signing. I took note of that because he has never played forward in his career according to his bball reference page. So is that some kind of foreshadowing or just a mistake?

also, i'm out on Kuminga. if the Warriors, who are very smart and have deep pockets, dont want to pay the guy, i think that's a HUGE red flag.
