Losing your 2nd overall pick from a few years ago for nothing doesn't really seem like a win to me though.

Also if he stays healthy this year and next and does look respectable then he'll have legit trade value, much moreso than now. Of course if he looks good you're also not going to 'want' to trade him. But a situation might come up where a true star level player who doesn't have two torn ACLs wants out somewhere and wants to be with Giannis and Jabari could be the key to making that happen. Say an AD, Zinger, whoever it might be 2-3 years from now. Not talking about trading for scraps.

I just don't see getting much in return for Jabari with 3 games before the deadline. I can't see a team giving up anything with such an unknown, with a possible change to lose him in the summer.
Why should you go to jail for a crime someone else noticed? You don't need double talk... You need Bob Loblaw.

If you replace "Jabari Parker" with the name "Player X" and list off NBA accomplishments/injury history/age, I'm pretty sure noone would support handing out the max to him. #ownthefuture

Just crazy that Friday is finally the day, said from the man himself.

I am super excited to see the slim down version of Jabari and am hoping he gets at least 75% of his minutes at SF.

Hopefully Bledsoe and Brogdon are 100% soon. I want to finally see our full team. I'm tired of adding one, subtracting one.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Anyone have an estimate on what a max from Jabari would look like?

I know his cap hold alone is over $20 million so regardless of what happens, until something does happen that pretty much handcuffs our offseason. Given this team's history with free agency that's not necessarily the worst outcome.

Let's use our Wizard friend Otto Porter's max offer from the Nets as our guide:

-four years and $106 million.

-player option after year three

-15% trade kicker

-half of annual amount due at start of season each year

-Annual salaries of $24.7, $26, $27.2 and $28.5 in the final year

If his ACL goes out again? We're done.

Best case scenario has always been for jabari to play well enough for a Max. If he becomes that player and you have two legit allstars, 2 borderline all stars you round out your team with vets and deal with the cap consequences.

That's from the Bucks. They won't give him that, would think they make him get an offer sheet or offer the 4/$106 he'd otherwise get.

ETA: and if Jabari doesn't accept that and try's to play out the QO, he's nuts based on DMC going down this week.

I'm just saying. Awkward is awkward

Anyone else see a guy any less happy to get back on the court ? I'm sure it's nothing. I'd be scared off my a$$ if it were me. I go back and forth on his situation. I don't envy Horst

Not only are we done but we watch Giannis leave in free agency in this scenario. There is zero chance a competetant franchise has a talent like Giannis and they risk it all on a knee that has had two torn ACLs. If we give Jabari the max and he blows his knee out again it is all over. I’m not willing to take that risk.

I love Jabari and it would be so sweet to watch him with this squad in the playoffs. That said, we have to trade him if he has value. Have to.
