Why are we talking about Khris Middleton if it doesn’t involve trades on this page?
Get back to trade talk and move Middleton to another thread

Not saying it isn't good and useful in spacing and bucket getting, but isn't midds shooting more mid-range at 58% just taking away possions from more efficient Giannis (65%TS) and Dame (60%TS) or even Malik (64.3%TS)? Wonder what his non-catch and shoot 3 TS is.
Kinda. But Giannis's TS% is propped up massively but his insane at rim % (81%!!), Dame but his FT shooting and Malik by his 3 point %. While they're three of the most efficient shots in basketball they're not necessarily always easy to get so you've gotta have a good diversity in the shots available. Midds hitting at that percentage translates to a 57.7TS% which is pretty nuts for a mid-range 2. Him taking 3.4 of those a game seems about right for balancing our offensive diversity.

Nevermind
Mate I'm absolutely here to have a decent discussion or even a debate. Middleton is hard to move because he has a lot of value to this team, more than others. Murray is an interesting idea to me, clear offensive downgrade though so you have to bet on him being a clear defensive upgrade to make this work, and potentially hope Murray has a bit of a career renaissance. Obviously bringing in Murray and not losing Middleton is best.
If we are trying to win games of basketball, the obvious moves are improve the guard D and think about if the C role can be changed.
Finally, looking at Horst's track record, he only moves his all stars for a good return. If we are moving Mids, we will definitely be getting something good back, probably better than Murray. Middleton remains a good NBA player.

Maybe in a regular season game or during certain possessions you would be mad that Khris is taking those over Dame trying to create but anybody who watches a lot of playoff basketball knows that a guy who can create and make tough mid rangers is really valuable. A good mixture of both is a great thing but obviously more Dame and Giannis handling.
I can see Dame struggling a lot to score efficiently come playoff time. Guys who hunt fouls usually have a hard time getting those in a playoff environment. Trae young, Derozan, Harden, Embiid etc…. A big reason why we see stars look so bad come playoff time.
I've been thinking the same thing. He definitely needs to find his offensive game outside of free throws before the playoffs.

Question does anyone on this board think that purdue center zac edney(sp) will be a good NBA player.Never seen him play but for a dude whose 7'4 300 lbs thought his stats would be better

I'll be interested to see what adjustments, if any, the new coaching staff implements. To me though, it can't all be attributed to that. He's looked a step slow and his shot hasn't really been there consistently at all.
I think it's several things at once.
#1 dame going through a lot of change and trying to figure out how to fit with this team.
#2 crappy system with grief just makes all the issues worse.
#3 dame is a guy that needs to believe in his heart. That motivates him. I think he didn't have any faith previous coach and Dame was struggling to operate at a higher gear without his heart in it.
#4 no support system with the divorce and changes, and suddenly separated from his kids. A lot of emotions he's going through and suddenly he doesn't have his normal support of his mom, and siblings and kids and cousind and family members around him. He's all alone. Reminds me of giannis in his early days where he once said if he can't get his family to milwaukee from Greece, it's not even worth it.
#5 he is a tad slower physically.
You add all it together and he's definitely not himself.
My hope is #1, #2, #3 are correctable.
Doc puts in a proper nba system, doc makes dame believe in the system, doc MAKES giannis and Dame work together. Doc is now putting dame in a position to succeed or maximizing Dame's abilities, and then I think Dame will have that extra gear to make a run for the next 4+ months.

Yeah, I was just more responding to op saying we need more and kind of suggesting we should prioritize getting him more of those shots. I think he's at about the right amount and anymore would take away shots from the other guys and not provide any additional increase in their percentages.

Before this season, he was thought to be a late 2nd rounder. He's shown more agility and rim protection this year, and had thought to have moved up because of it. However, I'm just not sure Edey wants it that bad.

Dunn, Ntilikina, Wright
Ntilikina has been injured most of the year. Wright is very available as the Wizards only covet picks. My guess is he could be had for 1-2nd. Dunn is tricky, as Utah has started playing well since they moved Dunn and Sexton into the starting lineup. However, Utah will likely decide to be a seller, as they've traded their pick, but it's top 10 protected. The price for Dunn? I'd guess numerous 2nds.

You put together exactly the way I see Dame's situation. Especially after hearing him previously talk about always being on facetime with his kids to compensate for the separation. Which really isn't the same.

The fallout from Don Horst godfathering the league with Dame and now Doc continues.
Is Dejounte Murray next? Whether it happens or not I wish I could be a fly on the wall of those Rich Paul meetings.

I’d love to see what this team would have looked like keeping Jrue and using the 29 1st to add Dejounte.
Jrue, Murray, Khris, Giannis, Brook.
Beas scoring off the bench. man.
