I haven't been reading threads much lately so forgive me if this was mentioned. I was listening to Bill Simmons say that he doesn't think B. Lopez is coming back this season and the Bucks should trade Donte for R. Lopez.

If that's where Donte's value is right now just keep him.

He helped us and cutting him contributed to the worst month we've had in quite a while. And yes, of course it was the money, and of course they want to act like it wasn't.

Or maybe he became an untenable locker room problem in the 90 seconds between when the game he played 20 minutes in ended and they cut him on the day before his contract became guaranteed. Who's to say.

But.... a watch!

There should be no hand wringing over Donte. We have 5 incredibly mediocre 2-guards on the team (Grayson, Wes, Pat, Hill, Donte). Some of them can play up and one of them can play down. Donte is the worst of the 5. He's probably the least versatile of the 5. He's rarely healthy. He's a FA. If we can get anything of value/need for him, he should be jettisoned instantly.

But he should bring you more than RoLo. That said, I have faith in Horst over the next four days.

No doubt. RoLo ain't it, but something of value. That said, if the clock was striking 12 and RoLo is the best offer.....

72 hours of tough work ahead for Horst. Wonder if anyone “sits out” with an “injury’ on Tuesday night.

Donte is a conundrum . He seems most likely to be traded and yet how much value can he have? Injury history, contract status, inconsistent play.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Thaddeus Young on the buyout market might be our best bet to improve.

Question for the insiders. How soon will this thread be at 100 pages?

And he also has the highest upside of anyone outside the big 4

what I want to know is if they 1) realized they needed a 5, and 2) were willing to use a guy without a 3-pt shot, why didn't they sign one of those kind of guys earlier. several were available.

Hill for Schroder makes so much sense. Celtics still have a backup PG and save 1.9 mil to get closer to the tax line. Bucks get a backup PG that is younger/healthier and can play higher minutes than Hill if needed.

Holiday (38)/Schroder (10)
Allen (28)/Pat (10)/Schroder (10)
Middleton (38)/Pat (10)
Giannis (20)/??? (20)/Pat (8)
Portis (28)/Giannis (20)

That leaves DDV + Nwora as available assets for the backup big Bucks need. Bamba makes sense too. I guess Bagley could be another target. Jalen Smith also showed flashes in Phoenix. I would prefer a youngish player to fill that hole since there is no PJ available this season.

I like this version better.

Bucks get: Nance, Damian Jones
Kings get: Donte, Hood, Semi
Blazers get: Bagley, 2-2nds via Kings
