If you called Memphis offering Khris for Smart and Kennard, do they hang up the phone or say ‘yes’?

I've thrown out Middleton for Smart/Clarke forever now. Assuming Clarke is ready to go for the playoffs I think it clearly helps balance the team. If he's out for the playoffs it's tougher but I still probably do it.

That simply ruins our team. Smart is a fraud, and we've been rather awesome with Khris on the floor.

Smart's 3 point shooting % the last 4 years: 33, 33, 34, 28.

Also, you could get 90% of Smart and Kennard by simply acquiring Dunn and playing AJ Green, and I'm not advocating playing Green. Getting that while keeping Khris is the obvious move.

THT has kind of randomly fallen out of the rotation with the Jazz and b2b DNP-CDs, wonder what the cost would be.

As I am like many of us, traumatized by being a lifelong Bucks fan, I understand the consternation over Middleton's health.

If I were the owner, here's what I'd do; I'd partner with a top local medical college to create a complete sports science team, and empower them to research and guide moves pertaining to player health. Use science over debilitating fear.

Yes, we actually already did that. The Bucks don't do everything right, but this move was a home run. Let the nerds work.

I know Dame is a pg and Beas is a sg, but i really think we should be staggering their minutes so they are on the floor together as little as possible.

I'm fine with a lessor deal, but it needs to be meaningful. Is Dunn meaningful? Maybe, maybe not.

That is a good idea because they are such bad defenders, it is causing huge problems at the defensive end. The question is whom do we start or play for instance? Pat instead of Beas? Our bench is also very weak. Beas going there instead of Beas, will weaken the bench defense.

The problem is multidimensional. Ag is a worse coach than Bud. We lost 3 good defensive players: Jrue, Javon and Wes; we have no replacements for them and so our defense is poor.

There has to be an inexpensive deadline move out there for a SG/PG who's strength is D. But as a side note if most things fall through, Wes basically doesn't play for Atl. You can probably get him back for nothing and have him start and play 15-20 mins total then bring Beas off the bench.

Probably best to spend the next month trying one of the young guys in that role first and see how it goes. But, Beas has been generally good so would have to take some ego managing probably.

Beas minutes should always be with Giannis on the floor.

Trading Middleton on the cheap seems extreme before we'd try a guard who can play a semblance of defense or a coach who knows what he's doing.

I'm hoping that some combo of Bobby / Pat / MarJon / Portland 2nd could get us a SG that makes sense playing starter minutes in between Dame and Khris.

Malik needs to be a scorer off the bench. No one should be surprised at what's happened to our defense even aside from how Grief's scheme is in complete opposition to our personnel.

When we had Jrue you could at least argue for coach's approach as well as Beasley as a starter. But Bucks gotta adapt to Dame already.

I love Herb, but all these proposals are pretty much wishes, right? NOLA hasn't been intimating Herb is available or have they?

Don't get me wrong, it doesn't necessarily mean he's a "good" individual defender, but the people still griping over Beasley's defense being a problem is a feelings over facts argument at this point. We're very much a good defense (112.8) with the Beas/Lillard backcourt on the court together.

NBA trade deadline is February 8th.

We’ve got four weeks to figure out if it’s Griff or Grief, and if we can add a playoff rotation (top 7) guy to this roster.

Right now I count these guys:

Giannis
Dame
Midds
Brook (situational during the game)
Beasley (situational during the game)

Pat and Bobby (situational depending on opponent)

Cam Payne (break glass if emergency)

Ajax and MarJon (not playoff guys yet and may never be)

Wishful thinking.

I do think one of their four young forwards will be moved eventually, though, since there’s a bit of positional overlap, and they’ve basically never tried having all four on the court together the past two seasons.

They're waiting for Horst to throw Dairy Bird into the offer.

That type of injury for crowder has to be bad at this point in his career right? He’ll probably suit up but I’m writing him off as an effective option.

Need new coach and probably new backcourt pair regardless, Lillard and Beasley not going to work. Need point of attack defender, maybe a guy like Caruso would allow Lillard to be the sieve but we can't have two guys like that in the backcourt and expect to beat Boston or Philly.

I posted the other day wondering how his 8 weeks is going. Who here thinks it could be another 8 weeks? I don't expect him to be available in the playoffs. Or in game shape. Two years and no basketball is no bueno.
