Nothing fancy here, just another road to avoiding the 2nd apron.

1st trade - with Brooklyn

Beauchamp (TPE) for nada

- Nets get a free look at a youngish player. It did pay off with Ziaire Williams. Bucks save 2.7 mil.

2nd trade - with Chicago

Pat for Carter

- Bulls move a PG they don't use for some help in the wings. Both are on 2y contracts, Bucks save 3 mil.

3rd trade - with Charlotte

Wright for cash

- Hornets have already starting using their cap space for such deals. Bucks save 2.1 mil.

Now you have 13 contracts and 1,245 mil to convert at some point Rollins into a standard contract and save a spot for some buyuout player.

I'm watching MSU against Kansas and see Horst in the second row. Not sure who he's scouting, since the Bucks have no first rounder.

Duke and Kentucky are also playing.

Mitchell and Dick look so much more dynamic than anybody we have off the bounce than anyone we have tonight.

Amateur scouting really shouldn't be affected by what picks you do or don't have. You have to know everybody as well as you can.

Bucks need a PG. What's up with Markell Fultz? Dennis Smith?

Wild that ownership is trying to pin the Griffin and Doc hires on Horst. Really don't understand how we didn't just let him bolt for Detroit in the offseason and hired a new GM if this is the kind of leash you have him on. I'm willing to start entertaining the scenario that all of his moves (or lack thereof) the last 9-10 months have been done in protest of his personnel autonomy being revoked. Letting him hire Atkinson, when we had two separate opportunities to do so, would have avoided so much of this mess.

Horst definitely deserves credit if he hits on a 2-way with Rollins. He looked solid last night despite some offensive struggles.

Even if Rollins doesn’t “hit” this year, absolutely give him a contract over MarJon.

Yeah to the extent realgm can shift media narratives outside of our Baghdad Bob Milwaukee media market we can’t let this stand.

I’m also wondering when it breaks through that Khris has been obviously slow-walking his return/s to the court for multiple seasons now despite how badly his team needs him.

He’s supposed to play tonight vs Detroit I think.

If it means we get the version of Khris that we got in the last playoffs, thats fine with me. We cannot be a sub 500 team without him and expect that he will save us. We need to figure out life without him, become a very good team, and have his return be the thing that puts us over the top into title contention.

Eh, I'm not buying this Khris stuff because the simplest explanation is that his body legitimately can't sustain a full 82-game NBA season anymore. After all he's given to this franchise, trying to call him out on the medicals just feels gross.

If Khris just can’t sustain fine we gotta plan accordingly.

The leaks last year how frustrated the team was at him for this reason has me suspicious at least.

Doc was also saying ‘it’s not Dame and Giannis it’s a big 3 with Khris’ while expecting him to return any day now in camp.

Have to wait until Thanksgiving to do it but:

Bobby, Marjon, and the 2031 2nd for Paul Reed.

Pistons are one of the only teams that have the space to do this. Saves us $7m and gets us under the 2nd apron.

Plus Reed is a reasonably serviceable back up big.

I’m starting Rollins next to Dame from here on out. He gets after it on D, great athlete, and so far in his limited NBA sample he’s hitting the 3.

Bobby is worth more in trade than Reed. Make it a 3 way. I do really like Reed.

Eventually, but we have months before we need to do that.

If the return is someone with any modicum of value, you can bet they're worth more than Bobby, a player with no trade value.

How flexible is our cap situation in the offseason?

Is there a scenario where could punt on this year and move Dame, Bobby and Brook and re-tool in one year with a new coach, additions from those trades and cap space? And if so, could we sell Giannis on letting these dudes go and starting fresh next year. There has to be a scenario that isn't a complete tear down but is a fresh start next year built around Giannis.
