Our actual management posted a lineup with the starting 2 guard being Tony Snell.

Subbing in RoCo instead of Pat/Sterling would be an upgrade. RoCo is a needle mover and could really help us win the championship.

Maybe but also how many 70 win paced teams didn’t make it to the finals?

How many didn’t win a championship?

I did not look this up so I may be setting myself up on this one but I think all the pieces are here we just need to be healthy

If he can be that guy then cool, and I'm not an expert on his defensive abilities from a scouting perspective, but I'm not liking the man defense metrics I'm seeing for him the last two seasons. Offensively, I think he's fine for fit.

But a definite no on JJ.

Weird to feel nervous during trade season. All we have to do is nothing.

Not sure where I stand in terms of valuing RoCo but these scenarios for him would work under the cap:

1. Pacers pick + Ersan + Bender

2. Pacers pick + RoLo + DJ (or Wes) + Bender

Kevin O'Connor on RoCo -- and the prospect of a bidding war -- with Houston in particular tied to him already:

With so many teams trying to win this season, the trade market is relatively quiet at the moment. But teams are definitely talking about certain players who could become available if their franchises decide to become sellers. Executives are also keeping an eye on teams that could fade from the playoff picture or could be swayed to reap the rewards of the market’s great demand.

Take the Minnesota Timberwolves, for example. Playoff teams are monitoring the availability of Robert Covington, according to multiple league sources. Covington is one of the league’s better 3-and-D wings and could net a significant return that helps the Wolves build around Karl-Anthony Towns and their young core. You could make a case that Minnesota should keep Covington: He turns 29 in December, he’s on a team-friendly contract worth $11.7 million on average until the summer of 2022, and he’s a versatile defender who hits 3s at a good clip. Then again, because so few impact players are available, putting Covington on the block could generate a bidding war that returns better assets than would normally be available. And such a return could outweigh the risk of keeping him: Covington is a streaky shooter who doesn’t do much off the dribble, and he’s suffered numerous knee injuries, including one that required surgery in April. The Wolves could make a strong case to gamble on a trade package featuring worthwhile younger pieces to maximize the Towns era, rather than hold on to Covington.

The Houston Rockets have serious interest in Covington, league sources say. The Rockets are in the market for wings; with James Harden having another MVP-caliber season, they’re a team that should go all in no matter who the target is. They have the ammo to do so: Despite the pile of picks it sent Oklahoma City in the Chris Paul–for–Russell Westbrook blockbuster, Houston can still dangle its first-round picks in 2020 and 2022.

Here's that part from Lowe:

Let's start with Milwaukee, very creative last year, 4 seconds for Mirotic. I think they will look at a guy like Robert Covingotn. JJ Redick if he were to become available. I have heard, they are a little under the luxury tax, I think they would go over it for a deal that puts them over the top, and they have the Pacers pick that they got over the summer for Malcolm Brogdon which will be out there.

Yea, we just don't have good salaries for trades. Our key role players have trade matching salaries but we can't afford to give them up.

RoCo just looks so old and unathletic this year. He just doesn't look like himself, and he's not actually old yet.

Maybe it's just a coincidence but RoCo has looked really good when I've watched the Wolves this year. Constantly hitting from 4pt range and playing solid defense when I've watched.

I said it when he was traded to Minnesota, I feel like RoCo has become a massively overrated player. He hasn’t been anywhere near the level of an individual defender as he was earlier in his career and his inability to generate looks for himself is constantly coming into play. Redick and Korver are so good at moving off ball, Covington really needs to improve. Not to mention he’s constantly playing hurt or missing time, I just don’t like the idea of bringing on that 3 year deal.

Hill was playing really well with Cleveland before the trade.

Trade 1 gives Ersan to Philly for free. Trade 2 upsets Brook and potentially puts Wes in Philly for free. All to add a guy who looks broken down, has had multiple knee injuries, and is locked in for two more years.

A really cool article on the historical run the bucks are on:

https://www.forbes.com/sites/shaneyoung/2019/12/13/the-milwaukee-bucks-are-entering-historical-territory/#1921ecdc595c

I also thought it was cool to look at a one year difference in Giannis 3pt shooting. Just look at the improvement exactly 12 months later:

In his first 24 games last season, his first opportunity next to head coach Mike Budenholzer, Antetokounmpo was just 6-of-53 (11.3%) on above-the-break threes. Fast-forward a year later, and he’s 37-of-116 (31.9%) from the same zone in his 24 games of 2019-20. That’s more than double the attempts and 20 percentage points higher in efficiency.

It's 32% and RISING. He's at 45% for December.

The article also pointed out the Bucks have a slightly higher SOS than the Lakers, even if the Bucks is 18th.

I just flat out do not buy that Covington or Redick put us "over the top". We ARE the **** top. The standard of what it would take to make us better is very high.

Don't even get involved in the bidding for these dudes. Our players may not all be better but they're not worse enough to justify the risk. This team is absolutely unified. Keep it together.

How many times have you been watching the Bucks this year and thought, "The one thing this team is missing is the 4th best player on a 10-15 team"?

Zach Lowe is out of his goddamn mind.

Meh, covington doesn't make us any better. I saw brown and co. doing a pretty decent job on kawhi. As a 3pt shooter, covington is @ .357. I will remind you that he was shooting better than that in the regular season back in 2018 (.37) before falling to .31 in the playoffs. He's not a shooter ala redick, bertans. If you can hide them on d, those guys are game changers. Unfortunately, every contender will be after them.
