I've seen it described as a lyrical poem...which is fine as I don't know how to describe it other than performance art with slight of hand and magic mixed in. Don't read about it before you watch. Just go in blind.

Had to come back to this: I cry ALL the time at movies and this just went over my head!

I was definitely intrigued the whole time. Still not sure if it was good though.

Banshee was added to HBOMax. Spent all day re-watching the final season. Work was slow.

Such an amazing show.

Did you really just post a lineup with the starting 2 guard being JR Smith?

Our actual management posted a lineup with the starting 2 guard being Tony Snell.

CBS All Access transitions to Paramount Plus on 3/4. They have a $5.99 ad plan and $9.99 no ad plan (the $5.99 plan goes away in June). You can get an annual no ad plan for $99 BUT from now until 3/3 you can get half off for the first year. So $50 for a year. And they have a 7 day trial. It looks like they have live CBS stuff too but I don't need that so I didn't look at it much.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Daniel Kaluuya’s performance as Fred Hampton was incredible. Top 3 of the “year” for me, right up there with Riz Ahmed in Sound of Metal and Delroy Lindo in Da 5 Bloods.

Know I'm late to this one, but did binge watch "Ted Lasso" on Apple.

It looked like it would be bad, but damn that was well done. Great ensemble cast. And Sudekis won the Golden Globe tonight for best comedy actor for the role.

MoreTrife wrote:I Care A Lot on Netflix may be the worst movie experience of my lifetime. Like I'm legit angry. Whoever directed it decided to turn a main character who targets elderly people, puts them into care homes against their will when they don't really need it, and steals their property and turns her into a plucky heroine. Like expects the audience to root for her. That is reason enough for it to suck but on top of it there are a million plot holes.

EDIT: and if you want a laugh, go to IMDb and check the 10/10 reviews - 100% the product of the studio paying off Eastern European review farms and providing them with a few scripts. Just an absolute dumpster fire of a movie.

yeah, it was really dumb. Movie would have ended when:

Spoiler:
that briefcase opened. I get it that she wanted to be uber rich but the risk/reward of squeezing out more up against clearly dangerous people was so dumb.

Also, her and her gf both surviving the lame attempts to kill them. Russian mafia would have killed them without the games so quickly, especially since the Tyrion boss dude was off the grid with a different identity. Zero chance they tip toe around killing them, they just do it

I actually didn't realize until last night that anyone remotely cared about this show. I thought it looks horrible from the trailers.

Yeah its a show that could have SO easily been terrible yet somehow they pulled it off and it was excellent.

10 episodes of about 40 minutes apiece. Not sure how they did it, but they took about 8 ensemble characters and made them all amazingly endearing. Sort of felt to me like this decade's version of Modern Family.

I haven't read through the thread to see if it's discussed, but In & Of Itself on Hulu is an incredible movie. One of the most compelling things I've watched in a long time.

Wife and I are about halfway through the 1st season of Servant. Will there ever be a payoff or is it just going to be endlessly ominous and weird?

Yeah we talked about it a page or two ago. Did you cry? I did but I'm not sure why.

Spoiler:
Something about those people reading the letters really got to me. Maybe it wasn't the content but more they were laying bare their insecurities to the audience? I dunno. Something really resonated with me though.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

Finally finished the 5th season of The Expanse. Took me about 4 episodes before I was emotionally invested but this was one of my favorite seasons.

Spoiler:
I really enjoyed the theme of finding your tribe and the importance of that in life. Loved the continued exploration of each characters stories. Especially, Amos. He continues to fascinate me and his ability to be self aware, know his strengths and weaknesses. He’s probably a sociopath but one I somehow care about. Alex’s death was kind of forced and clunky but I get that he needed to be written off. Anyway, if you haven’t already, I recommend catching up on it.
