I've always liked Schroder, more than many on this board. But I'm not sure how much I give up for a 20+ game rental.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Ask yourselves why the Celtics would want to get rid of their 5th highest minutes guy while they've won 7 of their last 8 and are still in the running for a Top-4 seed. They either want an overpay for Schroder, or there's some behind the scenes stuff going on (Schroder has a history with wanting his touches/usage).

Pass on Schroeder.

Watching any team using Schroeder as the primary ballhandler/playmaker makes me bleed from the eyes, both in the NBA and with the German NT.

I am pretty sure that he made some comments on his usage by coach Bud back in the day while on the Hawks, so I don't believe that we are seriously entertaining this option

I definitely mocked Greg Monroe in multiple text chains Saturday morning when the news broke. Had a really good laugh or two at his expense. Two days later I'm grateful we signed him and hopeful he sticks for the rest of the year. I wasn't exactly surprised we signed him in hopes he could be a useful player with our lack of big bodies. What I am surprised about was how well he handled switching defensively and holding his own in space against smaller opponents. Dropping all that weight made him quicker laterally. No idea how he'll fit going forward but big props to Greg Monroe for working his way back into the league. Could have easily just taken his money and coasted to a very early retirement. A sincere, heartfelt "OHHHH, AND ONE!!!" to Mooooooooose from this Bucks fan.

I didn't watch the last two games all the way through, but he seemed to move laterally way better than I expected. He stuck with Reggie Jackson on a drive really well. In the halftime interview, it seems he realizes he needs to not clog the lane and get offensive rebounds. I'd like to see more of him on defense, but I always thought he had a role in the NBA and was brought out to pasture by the league too quickly.

Monroe is a feel good story.

I’ve not seen anything on the court that shows me he’s playable in the postseason and haven’t seen much to show me he’s playable in the regular season. Getting a usable center is still priority number one for me going into the deadline.

Schroeder is ok and would give us a different look at PG, but I don't like the thought of him stepping into an uncertain role and I really don't like the idea of him stepping into Hill's role. The idea of getting a mediocre shooter at PG who also isn't a pristine decision-maker or a great defender, and also could agitate over touches if things aren't going perfectly... doesn't seem like the right guy for us. But we love putting scorers around Giannis and it'd be interesting to see what Schroeder might do with so little defensive attention. If we do go for him, I hope we don't price the "playing with Giannis'/for Bud shooting % bump" into his trade value.

Schroder would be a cool Donte replacement. Well, this version of Donte at least. I think trading Hill for him creates as many holes as it fills.

Yeah I agree with this. It was the same with Boogie. Neither guy will be the answer come May. Then again, if BroLo is healthy I think we can survive with him and Portis as we have our 9 man rotation

Brolo/Bobby
Giannis
Midds/Patty C
Allen/DDV
Jrue/Hill

Then again, you are an injury away from being really short-handed.

Is none of the above an option? Do I sound like too much of a casual when I say I'd rather have Monroe than Rolo/Bagley and I'd rather have Hill/Donte/Pat than Schroeder?

All non star centers are unplayable in the post season. Also, Giannis at center lineups rock.

Use our assets to get a defensive combo forward who can help Giannis at center lineups rebound.

I like this version better.

Bucks get: Nance, Damian Jones
Kings get: Donte, Hood, Semi
Blazers get: Bagley, 2-2nds via Kings

Damian Jones is shooting 36% from 3 this year.

Don't really matter if he's an answer or not come playoffs. The same reason why both guys were brought in is the reason why both of them were/are valuable to the team. Playing an NBA season with 2 bigs is absolutely stupid. Brook goes down, play a month before we realize we need a big. Cut Boogie, play a month before we realize we need a big. During those months we were literally running Giannis/Bobby into the ground when guys on the street could provide solid minutes for what reason? Because we don't want to pay them money in April? You can straight up like not field a 14 man roster if that's what you're basing paying money on.

This sums it up well for me. He's not good at anything, really.

And at the expense of Hill or DDV? No way.

I don't agree with them not having another big but this is a lot of hyperbole. Giannis sat out like 12 games and is only playing 32.5 min a game. He is also massive and people previously advocated moving him to center.
I think it was stupid not to sign moose the minute we waived DMC but it isn't like we have Kidd out here playing him and Midds 40 mpg every game. (I actually think Giannis is more likely to get injured running around like crazy as a wing than boxing out downlow. But obviously just a hypothesis).

Have a feeling Donte is going to get traded for some rental that will have me shaking my head.

Based on what we can offer and which players are reportedly available, thats the only name I have any interest in at this point.
