I think that’s deeper than last year actually.

I like it a lot more than the start of last season. Augustin was bleh

Probably need another big man, right? Ed Davis or Tony Bradley maybe

Unfortunately we could really use another guard and another big and I would think we have at most one more signing left (assuming Thanasis is returning).

Any chance we can trade Merrill for a protected 2nd? Free up a spot and maybe gain a future pick

I hope you're right and we just cut some of our young guys to bring in more vet minimum guys that can actually contribute but we'll see.

Technically possible but probably much more likely to just cut him if it comes to that

Philly has to be bringing Danny Green back right? He would be my number 1 choice left out there for the TMLE if he is a realistic option.

Cutting costs like 1.5m via taxes. You probably dump him on another team, with cash if need be. Some owner will gladly take a 400k cap hit for 1m cash.

His market probably isn't much higher than the TMLE at this point but I think somebody had mentioned that he didn't really want to return so who knows?

I know Alex Kennedy had tweeted something about a sign-and-trade for him at one point but he deleted it.

Unless they trade Merrill to just let a roster spot go unused, it isn't going to save us money on the tax. If anything it'll add to the tax bill because he's getting paid less than the vet minimum.

LA is wonky af but it could work around LBJ just based on his ability to run a team. Wonder if Melo eventually gets the Wade in Cleveland treatment.

Random thought, but at what point does Miami not become a sexy option? I’ve been a few times and it’s not that great. The buildings are falling apart and the city is quite literally sinking slowly into the ocean. I was reading comments on Tuckers post this morning while taking a poop, and there’s so many people saying he’s leaving for a better city. I get the nightlife aspect, but I think Miami gets way too much love just cause of the beaches and weather. The rest is kinda meh.

For a professional athlete with millions? Probably when it's literally under water.

So Lakers team next year:

PG-Westbrook/Nunn
SG-Monk/Ellington/Bazemore
SF-Lebron/Ariza/Tucker
PF-Davis/Carmelo
C-Howard/Gasol

We are better then this IMO

I don't suspect it'll be my vibe, but I'm planning to go there for my first time next year. Everyone I know that's ever been says it's one of their favorite cities.

I still want to see what happens with Schroder, but yeah, it's all gonna really hinge on how Westbrook ultimately fits there and if they can get a leap from Monk or Tucker.

The only thing I found redeeming about Miami was this little stretch of stands at a local farmer's market that had the best pork products and fresh fruit I've ever had.

Huh. That's not my point. Hypotheticallyf we were to cut Merrill because we wanted to bring in someone better, instead of cutting Merrill, paying the 400k guarantee plus the tax on it, we would try to trade him instead. Now I don't think you can get him off for free, but some team ('s owner) will be willing to take let's say 800k in cash to take him into a TPE and cut him. That team gains 400k, and we pay less overall than if we were to cut him all together.

MIA is probably really desirable to NBA players because they have a lot of money lol. I don't think the average person like most of us are would understand. We talk about beaches and farmers markets, RICH people probably do things we don't even think about lol, especially rich celebrities/athletes.
