Nah. He'll have a respectful arrogance about him but he wont be cocky. He's too nice.

Saw this 'comment' on JSonline. It's from an article about keeping GA in the starting lineup.

"Here's what Young Air-istotle was really saying:

"Not only was Bucks rookie, Giannis Antetokounmpo playing just a jersey, last night, he was also talking to it. Being privy to a courtside seat I heard Giannis dialoguing with Carmello in his adopted Greek. He was saying: "σορτς σας μυρίζει σαν μέλι cheerios καρύδι" roughly translated: "Your shorts smell like honey nut cheerios."

I still can't believe that he nearly shut down the 2nd best scorer in the NBA. Seriously, at the very least he's going to be a top flight perimeter defender for years, he certainly has all the tools to be. If he can add a perimeter game, multiple all-star isn't out of the realm of possibility.

This might be better suited for the stats thread, but it's about Giannis, so I figured I would post it here:

Good things happen when Giannis drives to the hoop. Per the SportsVU stats, he's shooting 66.7% on drives, which ties him for 9th in the league among players with 10+ drives this season. Of course, he's only averaging 1.2 drives a game, since nobody ever passes him the ball. But on those 1.2 drives, the team is scoring 1.5 points per game. So by my math the team is scoring 1.25 points per Giannis drive. SportsVU doesn't seem to be tracking points per drive, so I don't know where that ranks relative to the rest of the league, but it's sure as hell better than anything else we're doing offensively.

Forget about "point forward." They should actually run Giannis as the traditional PG for stretches. I am nearly positive he will be very very good at it. His handle, feel, vision, and delivery is special.

Aaron (Seattle)
I know its early, but how do you re-draft 1-3 in the 2013 class right now?

No question he can play PG offensively. On the other end we'd have some serious issues.

The Chad Ford re-draft is great news.

Means that if we tank right and arrange our roster right, we might actually be a true title contender in 2-3 years.

Big IF's though.

Thought this might be turned into its own thread but nonetheless, awesome.

If Oladipo was a better, more consistent shooter I think he goes #1 but that could prove to be a major detriment to his game if it doesn't improve.

Agreed. Giannis combination of size, speed, youth, and feel for the game make him #1 in a redraft for me, too. His unbelievable progress in the last handful of games of understanding and fitting into the offense makes me think he will be an All Star in threeish years. He already has an elite skill (transition + getting to the line). Add one more (shot creation, 3 point shooting, passing/playmaking are all definite possibilities) and we may have a true star on our hands.
The Bulls are the absolute worst.

Thorpe said Giannis would perform at a max contract level within three years, and he doesn't talk up youngsters easily. Now Ford says he would be tops in a redraft. He is holding his own and contributing (in spots) as an international 19 year old. Obviously anything can happen, but a team in a spot like the Bucks should consider him the most untradable player in the league. There is probably not a player in the league with more potential and upside. I'm not saying he is likely to be the best in the league, merely that there is no player with a greater plausible capacity to develop in to a unique game changer. There is a lot to be excited about here. This is possibly / probably the lucky break we have been angling and searching and hoping for.

Bucks have a legit shot at getting the best player in the draft two years in a row.

Didn't ford also say giannis was d-league when drafted? My personal preference right now is 1) MCW 2) giannis and 3) oladipo

Thanks for this thread. I don't get to watch all the games this season so this is a solid.

Someone needs to start making a running HL reel of the plays that don't make the cuts because the other player didn't convert. Two of his best plays this year was the spin move then pass to Knight for the bunny that he missed (against the Spurs?) and then last night's sick spin pass to Sanders under the hoop.

At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”
