So now reports are saying Kidd as POBO, and Hammond and Drew will stay on as GM and Coach? Until Kidd fires them both and hires his own guys that is.

Seems like, per @howardbeck and @gerywoelfel saying Kidd would be President, that Hammond and Drew could stay on. Makes sense/is weird.

Uh, because he would be the head coach too.

Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA · 7m
In pursuing exit to Milwaukee, source tells Yahoo of Jason Kidd's ambitions: "He wants the Doc and Pop role (there). Running everything."

This is absolutely disastrous. Just a terrible, terrible mistake.

Better qualifications than what Herb Kohl had.

So, he wants to become head of basketball operations? Wow. I honestly don't even know what that means. I don't care Kidd has a gargantuan ego. Lasry and Edens are billionaire poker players and roll with the highest.

Honestly, I'd be completely open to him as a coach. i watched a lot of Nets games this past season because I reside on the East coast. They were atrocious early - laughable, really. Then the Frank fiasco went down and everything changed. Out of nowhere came the rise and very impressive play of Plumlee. Kidd had an amazing ability to know when to ride Teletovic -a very off and on player. He would ride him for his 4-6 3 pt. nights and bench him for Blatche (who he also miraculously got quality pt out of). By the end of the season Teletovic was a legitimate threat to double double. He also got quality minutes and development out of Jose Gutierrez at back-up PG. I mean: Jose Gutierrez!! Livingston was incredibly efficient for their team. Paul Pierce moved to the 4 saved their season. Lots and lots to like with what they did.

BUT, basketball Ops?!? Cue a Church Lady gif :)

Jesus Christ.

If that's true, I have quickly lost all faith in our owners.

Well his coaching/allocation of minutes is pretty much all we have to go on in terms of personnel skills (even with a GM, Kidd will likely have the final call on most decisions).

I think Kidd will end up firing Drew, keeping Hammond as GM, and probably hiring himself as the coach.

Hammond can be useful in the Draft.

I would actually be happier with Kidd taking all three roles than keeping Hammond and Drew. There should not be ANY leftovers from Herb's era. Absolutely none.

Would we have to give up anything for this transaction? Man I'm pissed right now.

The Bucks need their new Don Nelson. If it works out, he could be here for the next 20 years.

This would bring a ton of credibility to the team, especially to all the young guys.

I don't care that he isn't an MIT dork. We can hire those people and he can consider their opinion. Kidd knows the game.

This is exactly right!

How can people be pissed he's not a guy that nobody knows about?

If you know basketball you know basketball, Kidd is one of the all time best. Players would LOVE to come here and play for him. When was the last time we had a coach like that?

Yikes. Hell no to former players running the show.

I don't think most of us are angry at the prospect of him coaching.

The problem is in either

1) Hiring Kidd while keeping Hammond and Drew

or

2) Giving Kidd total control. He absolutely has not earned that kind of role.

Regardless of what I think of him as a HC.

I can't imagine a team with Jason Kidd as head coach and Jabari Parker & Giannis doesn't get at least a few ESPN/TNT games.
