I think it's hilarious that half the board now hates our new owners already.

Pretty much just whatever Jared Dubin thinks.

The Nets have always wanted to be the Knicks. Now they know what it's like. Chaos.

Doesn't that kind of prove the POBO / GM / coach working relationship point? Spurs have had sustained success for 15+ years and probably just had their best Pop/Duncan team ever even though Duncan's basically Marc Gasol right now. The Cavs were a complete mess with a terrible owner/GM/coach and produced pretty crappy results with a top 10 player ever in a weak conference (LeBron had possibly the GOAT playoff run in '09 and they couldn't even get to the finals).

Lakers are the Lakers and have the huge market advantage for the first 3 titles. Then they worked some magic and ended up with the best frontcourt in the league for the 2nd two titles. OKC is TBD, but their three best players are 25 and under (also have had significant injuries).

Sportscenter leads off with: "Are you sitting down? Milwaukee may be the place to be".

"Jason Kidd asks the Nets for more money and more power". "Nets say no, Bucks may say yes, Bucks fans may say HECK YES".

It's closer to TMZ than actual journalism.

I don't hate them. But my faith in them has dropped, big time. Very disappointing to say the least.

Now, if we give up any compensation, on top of wanting to hire him, then yeah, they can GTFO as far as I'm concerned. That'd be absolutely ridiculous.

After thinking it over I'm definitely on the side of no. I'd feel better if he wasn't a slimeball. Just seems like a cancerous character. And the fact that he's BFFs with Lasry means that if he sucks at his job he'll probably be hanging around too long anyway because of his relationship with the owner.

This would be a train wreck similar to the whole Knicks/Isaiah Thomas saga.

There is zero reason to think that Kidd is qualified for any job other than coach, and scant evidence to support him as a coaching hire. He is a toxic personality who would be better kept away from the Bucks' young talent.

Most journalism is like this now. It feels more like poorly scripted entertainment than reality.

C''mon Wich. You know that would be one screwed up heirarchy.

KIDD -POBO
GM - under KIDD
Coach - KIDD

How does the GM under that structure matter? He'd be a puppet to what Kidd wanted.

Now if you think KIdd is the next Phil Jackson or Popovich, that works. I personally think his 20 year track record shows he's much closer in personality to Scott Skiles, but he just happened to have a much better NBA career.

Can anyone think of a POBO with this type of baggage/personality?

I get the sense L&E don't mind one bit that the Milwaukee Bucks are the lead story on ESPN right now...
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

On a side note, if DukeH is making an appearance after a multiple month hiatus, you know all hell is breaking loose right now at Bucks Headquarters.

Simply put, I don't want our coach or GM or POBO being BFFs with the owner. That just complicates things. When there's no personal relationships involved, business decisions are made a lot easier.

I can't believe I'm saying this but if this happens I'm going to end up yearning for the simpler days of John Hammond making personnel decisions.

Go.

You could make an argument that it helps bring buzz to the casual fan to help fund an arena. I don't agree with it, but if it helps sway people to agree to build a new arena then go for it.

Because I have common sense. It's easier to fire someone you don't really care about.
