833, The Couture, NML HQ, NML residential, possible JC tower, and the arena Milwaukee is on the come up. It's going to be a great view looking East from the arena towards the lake and skyline. The skyline looks best when it's viewed from the Park East area.

This isn't too bad either:
(The new building will fill a space behind the Gaslight Building just east of Cathedral Square.)

Damn, I love me a nice skyline so these proposed projects have me pretty excited for the city of Milwaukee. Hopefully the economy doesn't tank and stop all of these projects from happening. As Chicago continues to rot away, Milwaukee could be a city on the rise.

Zielinksi looking into having an Adult entertainment district. I don't see that flying in Milwaukee. No way.

I am amused that a portion of that URL reads as follows: "milwaukee-alderman-studying-adult-entertainment"

Whoa. Interesting twist to the original preferred site for the new arena. Looks like it might end up being available, after all. Too late, though.

Total conspiracy theory - but could this be why we haven't seen any new arena renderings? That always seemed odd to me given the tight timeframe.

I don't know if a new owner necessarily means a quick sale to the building. I was always under the impression the Bucks could have bought the building but couldn't reach a deal. Plus wouldn't the arena and theater need to go? It's interesting timing but way too late.

I think given the way the TIFs and such are designed we are locked in on the Park East location. I could be wrong, but the city's argument has been that the arena itself doesn't make sense financially, but the ancillary development on the Park East land is what makes it worth while. Move the arena to the Journal Building and that goes out the window.

That was always a stupid idea. The Panther Arena and the Auditorium (yeah, Theater, whatever) have to stay. They are important venues.

The Bucks arena is going exactly where it belongs. The end.

I wouldn't go so far to call them important venues. Panther arena is lucky to have the Admirals (and they could still play in the new arena). UWM was previously talking about building their own arena on campus. The Wave are hardly a reason to keep the Panther Arena open.

The theater is doing better but do you know the amount of money invested in a building that is hardly used? I am thinking they could have left the theater too.

Obviously it will cost LED more money to get those sites/properties. They would probably have to build a smaller arena to cover the teams who lost the Panther Arena (which could have been in talks previously).

But now you move everything closer together and make downtown more dense. Granted it is only 2 blocks away from the current site but things become more walkable. You are able to connect the arena the convention center easily. The city has much more leverage and could propose LED help build out the convention center. Then Milwaukee draws conventions of thousands week after week during the summer and other random weekends. Fall/Winter/Spring is for Marquette, Bucks and Admirals. Larger hotels will be built, retail and restaurants/bars will go up because of the increased tourism/conventions. That district would truly be used year round.

It would be a harder hurdle to get over but I still think that is the best site. LED would have to dig deeper into their pockets and take more time to get approval. It is way too late now though.

The Milwaukee Theater has 14 events scheduled thru next June and 4 of those are Graduations, lulz, important venue. Still owe $27.1 million in debt on it.

The arena location won't be changed at this point. Not happening.

UWM will not be able to build anything while Walker is in office, even with 100% of it coming from donors.

Letter in the JS

The Milwaukee Bucks just signed a player for $44 million, and the Bucks want us, the public, to pay for their new arena ("Henson gets $44 million deal," Oct. 3)? Have I missed something here? This makes no sense to me. Is there a politician out there who is willing to explain that one to me?

The "WTF" isn't that there are morons out there. The "WTF" is that the JS printed it.
