Tell me how that happens. Also can we get Exum.

Hope they still want Jabari? Their backcourt is crowded with Mitchell, Rubio, and Hood, and they have two good true centers, but they could use another forward. Exum has two season-ending injuries on his ledger so maybe Jabari is still worth that. We know for a fact that Utah offered that package for Jabari on draft day. Favors is worth a lot less now given that he could be a rental. Jabari and Exum are both worth a lot less as well for obvious reasons. Maybe they all depreciated roughly the same amount and team needs will win out?

I have Aussie PTSD at this point.

Exum is going to get league minimum next year in FA like MCW. He can’t stay healthy and hasn’t proven anything. Plus his game relied mostly on his speed so that’s not ideal.

He dislocated his shoulder this year. His speed was perfectly fine after his torn ACL and he was showing glimpses of being pretty good. The similarities to MCW are pretty superficial. He knows his limitations and lets the game come to him. He's almost too passive sometimes but that's better than having an ego and usage % hopelessly out of proportion to skill like MCW or Brandon Knight.

There's other good possibilities out there. The Bucks will have to make a lot of calls because they don't have many assets that rebuilding teams want and would also have to send out some bad contracts to make most trades work, which rebuilding teams really don't want. It's not like the Hawks are out to make the Bucks' lives easier. Would be nice if they were.

Cody Zeller would be ideal. RoLo + Mirotic would be a huge help. Dudley + Chandler would help a bit. Favors is still the dream scenario, and Utah might be ready to trade other decent vets like Burks, Johnson, and Ingles if they keep falling in the standings. Vucevic would be okay. But the Bucks might struggle to come up with competitive offers, even if it's just serviceable role players they're after.

Agreed on Lopez/Niko/(maybe Holiday too). They are my #2 ideal partner, but much more expensive than Atlanta, IMO. Lots of suitors for Niko and they will likely hold out for a 1st, unless we're willing to deal Jabari for that package, which you probably are but I am not.

If you can shed some money and add legit depth at the cost of Maker & Wilson, that's the way to go, and Atlanta is probably the only chance at that.

I might be a little reluctant to trade Jabari for that, but in the end I'd probably do it if they take a couple bad contracts too. I love the possibility of having all those expiring deals in 2019. Khris, RoLo, Bledsoe, Niko, Mirza, and Brogdon (who has an insanely low cap hold) all come off the books. If the team plays well, you can use Bird Rights to keep most of them together. If they don't look like contenders, you can just keep the guys you want and one or two decent free agents. If they're all on the decline, you can let them walk and take a puncher's chance at multiple coveted free agents. Giannis could be a big draw at this point and it might be worth a shot.

I would definitely try to get Favors + Exum first if I'm trading Jabari though. Atlanta is a good move because of the low cost. Utah is a good move because it's a higher cost but also a return with much higher upside. Chicago is kind of stuck in between those two possibilities. Ntilikina with KOQ or Willy might be a sneaky good option for trading Jabari, but I think NYK loves Frank, as they probably should.

Works for me....Throw in a Henson/Snell for Jordan and you give this team the cap freedom it needs to succeed for the future.

Our best option for the open two way might be an import. This is the time of year when Americans & their overseas teams start to fed up with one another. A guaranteed twenty something NBA days, playoff per deims & another year of service to boost your veteran's minimum make the 2-way a pretty nice landing spot for a player returning to the States. Couldn't hurt to stack the Herd with a ringer for it's playoff push.

Yep hopefully can entice the Hawks with a heap of prospects. Pretty damning that's what our last 3 picks turns into.

He hits threes is a reasonable defender and passes well. Absolutely a bloke I'd take a flier on.

He hits threes? Since when? He's barely above 30% for his career.

I thought he was better than that, apologies. The biggest knock on him before he was drafted was shooting and he's been ok at that. I'd back him to keep improving.

Not sure why ATL does the deal, they are hoping to dump Basegod for expirings and picks etc not take on money. If our young players were worth taking on the money then maybe but they aren’t

He’s been a pretty terrible player by nearly every metric. He’s a shooting guard (who can’t shoot) playing point. His vision and decision making isn’t there and he has only been an average defender. Some team will give him league minimum in FA, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t make it out of camp.
