Im expecting our incoming SG to be completely random. Think someone like Ben McLemore, bud will turn him into an all-star lol.

Very good signing. Can't argue the value. Did you see Bobby Portis getting 15.5 mil per year?

We need that wing though. Do what is needed to get it. Think Ersan needs to get moved next to clear space.

We can get Thanasis, and bring back Miles and Mason Plumlee, so we can have an all bros team.

Yes!!! DDV and Connaughton bombs away to give us 75% of Brogdons production while we now have a huge frontline to rebound and defend the rim better.

I respect the heart attack over this move.

I just think there is a meaningful difference between Lopez vs Kyle O’Quin and guys like that.
We aren’t getting a rotation player at the 2 or the 3 for the room exception .

You do realize that this exact sort of statement was made last year when we signed Brook, right? Sometimes a change of scenery is all a player needs.

I can't believe how upset some people in this thread are. He's a damn backup center that we signed for CHEAP.

I think it’s just frustration from the fact we are steering away from players that fit Buds system. We desperately need shooters with Brogdon, Mirotic, and likely Ersan gone. It’s a legit concern.

I think I'll let Bud decide who fits his system. We aren't done. This is day one of FA. I think Horst and the organization deserve a tiny bit of trust at this point, yeah? After the dark days of Kohl, I fully get why some of you guys will find a negative spin on any decision we make out of fear that we're returning to those times, but this time it's beyond ludicrous. This isn't a Plumlee or Henson signing.

I loved me some Brogdon, but at some point you have to be concerned about his injury history.

Except we spent all our money day 1. No room to do anything else other than the TPE or a trade.

I'm on the record as wanting Robin at the trade deadline. But not with the at this cost. We needed something way better than what Robin will bring with that exception.

On the plus side, I'm sure this signing is gonna feel great for Giannis when we cut Thanasis in 4 months.

Thanasis won’t make the team

If sterling brown could make up for Middleton, why can’t he make up for brogdon?

Like how Seth Curry, Reggie Bullock, Jamal Crawford, Wayne Ellington, etc weren't in rotations on that type of money last year? Or how Pat Connaughton was in ours? I DO think Lopez is probably better at what he does than any 2 guard we could have nabbed, but I also think getting a shot creator in that slot would have served the team better unless we have something lined up at the minimum.

I just posed that question in the Brogdon thread. I think if you look at Sterling by himself there is a lot to like and of course he could get better given starters minutes for a whole season. I think where it gets tough is when you compare him with Brogdon you take Brogdon all day.

But the rationale doesn’t check out.

Nothing against Lopez at all but this is just...why? And a player option for some reason?

Need wings and more perimeter shot creators. This is meh.

I think Lopez this offseason has more value than all of the guys you mentioned had going into last season. (Plus I don’t think Wayne wasn’t signed for the room exception last year?)

Look at who is left on the market at the 2/3, there isn’t much out there. Plus we desperately needed a back up center.

He couldn’t make up for either. In reality, he’s a considerably below average player, who had a 0 netrtg (next closest for any semi-regular Buck was DJ and Pat with +5) on a 62 win team.
