Went a little crazy with the trade machine but I came up with this. Wizards shed John Walls contract and get a lot of young pieces/draft picks going full rebuild, Knicks not really sure this just seems like such a Knick type deal. Get a big name in a Knicks jersey in John Wall. Bucks get their big 3 with adding Beal.

Bucks receive: Bradley Beal, Taj Gibson

Wizards receive: Eric Bledsoe, Brook Lopez, Donte DiVincenzo, Julius Randle, Dennis Smith Jr, Bucks 2020 1st round pick (#24), and Knicks 2020 First round pick (#8)

Knicks receive: John Wall, Bucks 2021 1st round pick (unprotected)

Dallas has Porzingis?!

How many minutes does he play the 5 ?
I thought most of his min were at the 4.

Depends what you call Maxi and Powell. Zinger is like 7'3 and essentially plays exactly like Lopez, but way way better. I'm sure they could use a more traditional bruiser some matchups, but in general you're covered at the 5 and don't need to chase a high salary one.

Who here thinks we beat the Heat or, at worst, the series goes 7 games if Giannis stays healthy and we have home court advantage?

If so, who thinks we'd beat the Celtics in the ECFs with home court advantage?

I do.

We're still so close. We don't need to tear it apart. I don't think they should overreact to the bubble. They do need to evaluate, and possibly overhaul, the PG/lead guard position (Bledsoe can't be relied upon in the playoffs and Hill doesn't always seem to care whether we win or lose) and add a quality wing shooter (or two). That's it.

Home court advantage. Bud tweaks his approach. Giannis stays healthy and makes FTs. We're in.

I doubt Joe Harris isn't retained by Brooklyn but that's another flamethrower that would be awesome to have alongside Giannis.

We saw serious issues cropping up prior to the shutdown. There was a problem before most rang any alarm bells. Fundamentally, this team needs to get younger and more talented. Can't do that with old vets and streaky shooting. Oh and our MVP cant make a free throw and a 2x Coach of the Year can't realize he needs to adjust until its game 4 of an elimination series youre down 0-3.

Oh c'mon, I just can't get behind micro-analyzing a few games "right before the shutdown" and pointing to that as evidence as to why this team was vulnerable. It was 5 months ago.

The sooner you realize that this was an entirely brand new season with a bunch of weird curveballs thrown in, the sooner you can look at this roster more objectively and understand that a few changes are necessary, not an entire roster tear-down.

Listening to LOB today confirms my theory that Giannis does not want Chris Paul.

I'd love to hear Giannis say who he does want, but tampering and stuff.

We really don't have much insight in to what he's looking for as far as running mates go. From past comments he's made about being sad guys like Thon and Kidd are gone, I'd peg GM Giannis about as bad as GM Lebron.

I think the sooner you can believe people thought this team was flawed prior to the shut down it'll be easier to digest. But I am with you 100% on it being essentially a new season in the bubble and we were not ready.

I have talked myself into Dennis Schroder now. Package deal for Saratsis with him and Giannis.

Part of me feels like it's a smoke screen

But, the other half of me feels like Giannis doesn't want someone with that big of a name to come in and save this team

Cause then they'll get the credit

Nehm went in on this the other day

Good point. However, I'm pretty sure Paul has never even made it out of the 2nd round. If anything if it worked this should/could be viewed as Giannis salvaging a career underachiever a title. Let's say it was DWade in 2013ish coming in where he's aging but has 3 titles in his bag already that fear would line up better. That said, of course who knows how Giannis personally views it. Chances are yea he'd probably prefer a lesser name like say Beal so Giannis still clear top dog.

Hope he learns how to shoot a free throw.

It would still be Giannis's team if Chris Paul ended up on the Bucks and I'd be pretty surprised if Paul thought it was his team. Hopefully Giannis can swallow some of his pride and realize he needs some help.

This ain't exactly Lebron coming to Miami to take the spotlight from Wade. It's more old-man Oscar coming in to help Kareem get his first title. I highly doubt that Giannis is "dead set" against anything that would improve the team's chances at a championship, which is why I'm taking all of these "leaks" with a mountain of salt. Anyone we can realistically bring in is gonna be second or third fiddle to Giannis/Middleton, so it doesn't seem to make much sense that he'd think that way.

It would very much be like Oscar coming in to pair with KAJ. Never won a title before. KAJ being a big (like Giannis) he needed to pair with a good lead G.

Oscar Robertson wasn’t his own enterprise the way Chris Paul is. Different times, different personalities. Chris Paul brings with him the potential for upheaval in a way that can’t be overlooked in this decision.

If Giannis wants to win a title he's gonna need to figure out how the NBA works.
