Jordan’s gets the UW band to stop, but I can hear that across the street.

One contended is the afore mentioned regent street retreat (whatever it’s called now). Super cheap, strong drinks from what I can remember.

Greenbush just moved across the street to a larger space.

I know. It just isn’t quite the same. The smells at that pre-game were so great. Rocky’s pizza, greenbush bakery, grill outside.

I don't even know what Greenbush is. Sounds like I missed out.

You must be old like me. I remember Madhatters...the original Madhatters not the compromised 2nd draft.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

In case of confusion, Greenbush is a kosher bakery donut shop but open like all night. In the same buidling as the Rocky's on Regent. So a consistent bar time grab us regent st area liver, plus just very good anytime of the day. Not a bar.

It's not in the same building as Rocky's anymore.

Also, there's a Greenbush Bar a couple blocks east on Regent that makes solid italian food and good pizza.

I was super disappointed in Parthenon when I visited it after arriving on campus 15 years ago. It had nothing on Oakland Gyros in Milwaukee.

I truly do miss Rocky's (I was diagnosed celiac ~3 yrs ago). I know it's just greasy pan pizza, but hell if it isn't good greasy pan pizza. And growing up in Madison, it's so nostalgic.

Nope. He passed within the last year or two, but I can confirm he was scanning up until the end.

Well, only 8 non football weekends to go until we see how Regent goes for gamedways now. Have to guess the opener will be a bit nuts, too bad it's an 11 AM game.

In basketball news, I got Maui invite tickets so I guess, as a big Tom Petty fan, I can't back down from going. Now just have to figure it all out. Kinda bad year for it with how unlikely it is the team is very good, but whatever it forced my hand to finally go to Hawaii. I'll take it.

Dawson Garcia leaving Marquette for UNC eclipses the UW closed door meeting by multiple factors, but it do lack intrigue.

Is there something behind the scenes on this one with Shaka?

I just assumed/chalked it up to Garcia having a higher profile/wanting to go to a higher profile school given the free transfer and maybe not being a perfect fit for Shaka.

If this happened 2 years from now my eyebrows would raise a bit, though either way, a UW fan that enjoys the rivalry can be happy about it or whatever.

I think it's nothing more than a combo of the coach that recruited him is gone and that a blue blood showed interest. Not much sizzle, but far more substantial when a potential lottery pick skips town than when Walt McGory's disgruntlement becomes a matter of public record. Or maybe I'm weird.

Garcia doesn’t really fit the new MU style and what Skaka wants to do, I’m not surprised he has moved on. MU probably has already filled that void with the transfer from OK I believe

 I haven't been following this offseason closely, but saw that the #1 player in the transfer portal had left Minny. Gopherhole is in shambles.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
