He's been giving solid effort, but you're way overvaluing him.

I know half of this comment is about Bud, but I’ve never fully understood the narrative that Giannis has been terrible in the playoffs. This article agrees with me. Says he's putting up historical numbers in the playoffs., and not just this year
https://www.google.com/amp/s/syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2945245-giannis-antetokounmpo-may-be-the-best-player-still-standing-in-the-nba-playoffs.amp.html

Maybe because we've seen him take stupid 3s and refuse to box out for rebounds. It's not like anyone is saying he's Jabari Parker, he's just not being as good as he can be.
Obviously he hasn't been "terrible" but when we lose a close game, better performance by any player could have made a difference.

Sums up this game nicely. So smooth, so good, just at another level than the competition.

I've watched this umpteen times already and still don't think i can ever get tired of it. So smooth.

No skill at all.

So having Trae Young if fun and great and all but I think his defense (or lack thereof) is starting to cost the Hawks.
And we're not even targeting him specifically, because he's hiding on Tucker at the corner and we just don't want to give the ball to Tucker.

However, putting your PG on a SF means your SF now has to guard our PG, and that is not working out very well for Huerter at all. Jrue is now averaging 27, and Jrue is definitely not a 27 kind of guy. Huerter has become almost unplayable here and he's not even a bad defender, just not suited for chasing a PG around all game. Neither is Bogi, even when Bogi had 2 good knees.

Also Trae can't box out anybody, let alone Tucker, but because Tucker is going for every single offensive board and ended up grabbing a couple, Trae now has to try. And man I almost felt sorry watching him trying to push Tucker's elbow with his neck and his collarbone LOL

But he has to try, and this means that after the basket is made he now gets the ball under the basket to start offense, as opposed to his favourite position around the 3 pt line, so by the time he gets anywhere the Bucks are back on D and half his transition opportunities are gone.

It gets harder and harder to get away with a non-defender the deeper you get in the POs. But lets see what happens next game, maybe MacMillan will try something else.

What I liked to see was Pat and Tucker going for the offensive boards like they did against Miami. Somehow they didn’t/couldn’t do it against the Nets. And the Bucks were looking for Bryn again for open 3’s. That didn’t work against the Nets either.

Every game Pat makes his 3’s it’s an easy win. I think that kills the opposition when they try to do everything to stop Giannis, Khris and Jrue.

I wonder how many times Miller jumped out of his seat cheering for Trae Young tonite? Very professional. Not biased at all. Just like when he announced the Badgers-Arizona NCAA tourney game. And to think TNT thought Brian Anderson announcing Bucks' playoff games would be too biased.

Ya, the revisionist history on Giannis is baffling. He has been amazing. Take away his 3 point attempts and he is nearly flawless. But remember, just a few games ago there were posters proposing Giannis trades, because they said he was so dumb.

I was at the game tonight. My impressions:

1) Crowd-Sitting directly behind me was Jim Paschke and Dave Babcock, longtime Bucks scout. They were in the first row of the suite and I was in the last row of the lower deck. I tried talking to Babcock and he was very friendly, but it was so loud I couldn't understand a word he said. Great crowd.

2) Lots of people around me flew in from Atlanta. They were counting on Giannis's free throws and Giannis shot them before they reached ten.

3) Bud was roundly booed during introductions. First time I've ever heard that. Knowledgeable crowd.

Bucks have too much talent and experience for this series to go far, so if Bud keeps the pressure up rather than the passive drop scheme, we'll be all right.

If you boo the coach before game 2 of the CONFERENCE FINALS, you're a jackass.

Source on that last part? I thought BA was supposed to handle CF duties this year, but figured they let Marv take it as part of his swan song.

BA was never going to do the conference finals regardless of if the Bucks were in it. And if Marv didn't do it Harlan would have anyway.

Marv isn't good anymore but ALL of the TNT analysts suck. Reggie, Grant Hill, Chris Webber, Jim Jackson
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I can see us not being in the game since we wouldn’t have beaten BKN without him, but yea, he isn’t the needle mover vs the Hawks

Agree. He may have a big role in the finals if we get there though. Particularly against the Clippers.
